The Delta Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on security agencies to address the issue of kidnapping in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by its Chairman Rev. Gideon Oyibo, in Asaba on Saturday.
He described as ungodly and unholy the recent kidnap and murder of the traditional ruler of Ubulu-Uku kingdom in Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state, Chief Edward Ofulue III.
Oyibo, who expressed his condolence to members of family and people of Ubulu-Uku kingdom, also appealed to security agencies to help track down those involve in the act.
He also called for the release of Josiah Aghaza, of the kidnapped traditional ruler of Olomoro Kingdom in Isoko South Local government Area.
He said the association was praying for the quick release of the monarch, and called for prayers for the peace, security and safety of residents of the state.
Oyibo also called on youths in the state to monitor movement in their respective communities and report suspicious movements to the relevant authorities.

The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule on Saturday urged residents to adopt attitudes and practices that could promote good environmental sanitation and cleanliness to pave way for good health.
Adebule made the plea during the monthly environmental sanitation inspection at Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the residents dumped refuse and waste indiscriminately on some streets and in the drainage channel on Ijora-Badiya railway.
Many residents were seen seated in front of their houses, chatting away in dirty surroundings without observing the environmental sanitation.
Adebule decried the dirty state of the environment.
“I am not happy with the dirty state of this environment and many residents here are not observing the sanitation even when their surroundings are dirty.
“The more we treat the environment with impunity by throwing domestic waste at unauthorized places, the higher our chances of getting sick.
“The amount of money that will be used in treating communicable environmental diseases, when contracted, could have been utilised in other sectors of one’s economy.
“Government’s resolve to make the state free from infectious diseases will be fruitless when we continue to treat the environment with impunity.
“I am happy you are all aware of the Lassa Fever outbreak and one of the ways to prevent the spread is through personal and environmental hygiene,” she said.
According to her, it is about time people begin to treat issues of environmental sanitation and health with all the seriousness that it deserves.
“We need attitudinal change and we need to own our environment to stay healthy,” she said.
Adebule pledged that the government would continue to organise public educational campaigns and programmes to sensitise people on environmental sanitation and cleanliness.
She said the public would also be sensitised on the benefits of complying with environmental laws.
According to her, it is beneficial to pay maximum attention to the protection of the environment by making it clean, beautiful and safe for life.

There seems no let in the offensive of Rivers State Government against former Governor of the state, Mr. Chibuike Amaechi, even with the assurance of a four-year term well in its kitty.
The government is demanding that Amaech, who is now the Minister or Transport in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, give account of how he utilised the over N3trillion that allegedly accrued to the state during his tenure.
Conveying the government’s position, a day after Amaechi’s successor, Governor Nyesom Wike had his mandate confirmed by the Supreme Court, the state Commissioner for Information, Dr Tam George told reporters in Port Harcourt that the state had been hard-hit by the ex-governor’s “catastrophic legacy.”

Vowing that the government would surely recover its resources through all available legitimate means, he said: “Amaechi left the most abandoned projects in the history of Rivers State since 1997. Thousands of workers were without their salaries for four months and thousands of teachers were not paid for nearly 12 months. We have so many abandoned projects which huge sums have been paid but projects are yet to be completed. We have the Mono-rail project that gulped over N60bn and it was abandoned. We have the Woji road project awarded at N3bn. There was a variation of the project to the upward of N14bn but it was abandoned. We inherited the project and completed it. There are so many of the abandoned projects. We have the Karibi George 250 bed project where huge sums of money were paid but no single block was laid at the site.”

It was hers for the picking, getting to this stage and with what was at stake for her, or so many bookmakers who gave it to Serena Williams thought . But they did not take into account the agility, resilience and determination of Angelique Kerber, which eventually counted in who lifts this year’s Australian Open cup.
Sweet victory
And so, Williams, yet again suffered her second seismic shock in as many grand-slam events when Kerber, the unfavoured underdog from Germany, outplayed her in the memorable season’s open final.
Kerber’s win follows on from Roberta Vinci’s ambush of Williams at September’s US Open, which stymied the possibility of a calendar grand slam. It also means that Steffi Graf’s Open-era record of 22 major titles survives until early June, at the very least.
No-one gave Kerber much of a chance going in. She plays a grinding, defensive game in which the key statistic is usually her low number of unforced errors. But against Williams’s unparalleled firepower? Surely she would be overpowered.
Yet we were not reckoning with the anxiety that seemed to grip Williams throughout the match. She started the match confidently enough, claiming the first game in two minutes with her usual barrage of 110mph serves and heavy groundstrokes. But then she began accumulating a legion of unforced errors, as her feet refused to glide up to their ball with their usual alacrity.
Williams was also keen to come forward to the net, a strategy that the coaching team led by Patrick Mouratoglou had presumably developed before the match. But her volleys were woeful as she won just 15 of 32 such points.

Meanwhile, Kerber was starting to show how she won her place in the final, having taken out tournament favourite Victoria Azarenka in the quarter-final and Great Briton’s Jo Konta in the semi. She kept the ball alive for longer than Williams expected on almost every point, showing phenomenal court coverage and the single-minded focus of a beagle at a fox-hunt. Her ability to hit passing shots on the run – or at the very least punch the ball back for a low and awkward volley – left Williams’s pre-match strategy in tatters.
It was one such volley, in fact, that ended the match after 2hr 8mins, as Williams floated the ball unaccountably long off her forehand side. Kerber was home, by a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 scoreline, and she fell on her back in the internationally recognised symbol of tennis jubilation.
In contrast to her almost speechless press conference after the Vinci defeat in New York, Williams was surprisingly upbeat about this result, smiling her way through the post-match interview and offering longer answers than she has at any other stage of tournament.
“I was actually really happy for her,” Williams said. “She had an attitude that I think a lot of people can learn from: just to always stay positive and to never give up. I was really inspired by that. So, honestly, she’s a really good girl. If I couldn’t win, I’m happy she did.”
She also expressed her frustration at the common assumption that she should waltz to the trophy in every tournament she plays. “Every time I walk in this room, everyone expects me to win every single match, every single day of my life. As much as I would like to be a robot, I’m not.”
Having taken her grand-slam tally from 18 to 21 in one unbroken sequence, dating from the 2014 US Open of 2014 to last year’s Wimbledon, Williams has now suffered two straight misses in her drive to equal Graf.
Ironically, Kerber cites Graf as her tennis idol and heroine, and feels that her own transformation from Top-10 regular to title contender dates back to a visit to Graf’s home in Las Vegas last spring. “She taught me actually that I’m on a good way, and try to believe in myself,” said Kerber before the final. “I was trying to do it in the last few months.”

These were the words of fiery catholic priest and former Director of Adoration Ministries, Enugu, as he was escorted out of the Christ the King Parish (CKP), GRA, Enugu to his new parish in Emene, a suburb of Enugu, the Enugu State capital by thousands of wailing followers in an emotion-laden event on Saturday.
Though he did not drop tears himself, but the cleric, believed to have run into troubled waters with the authorities of the Catholic Church recently, for his controversial pronouncements, the latest being his revelation that some people were planning to kill President Muhammadu Buhari, was quickly sent out of his popular Adoration Ministry ground, which hosts millions of faithful on service days.
Mbaka, who waged an epic battle with former Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, who he accused of being responsible for the stampede in one of the worship events in 2001, had booked a place at the national level, when he similarly accused former President, Goodluck Jonathan of plotting to kill him, after he had predicted the ex-President’s fall from office on the eve of 2015.
While at New Year eve prayer session to usher in 2015, the cleric, who had showered praises on the first family during the visit of Jonathan’s wife, not only recanted, but practically took Jonathan to the cleaners, saying he had brought bad luck to Nigeria, and thus, urged Nigerians to see the light in the way of Buhari, who was then a candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

But not until an emotional address, which moved many to tears, as he poured out his heart, expressing misgiving on the treatment meted out to him, which he said was calculated to make him suffer by certain leader of the church.

For those who may be unaware, the Council on Foreign Relations is essentially a sister organization to the Royal Institute of International Affairs, one of the primary Anglo-American policy developers, and functions as one of the most effective direct control mechanisms in the world in regards to government-based decisions and governmental policy. It is from the RIIA and the CFR, as well as the other relevant sister organizations set up in nations all across the world, that the direction in which the world will go is decided and implemented through a number of other front organizations, conferences, publications, foundations, and NGOs.
Politicians – Senators, Congressmen, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Parliamentarians – all attend their relevant organization’s functions, participate in “discussions” and hold memberships in their CFR-related clubs for the purposes of receiving their “marching orders” from their bosses. As one might suspect, this is no different for Hillary Clinton.
While a list of members and participants of the CFR would be far too exhaustive a list to reproduce during the course of this study, it is nevertheless important to point out that not only is Dick Cheney a member of the organization, he was actually a director for a period of time.[1]
In fact, David Rockefeller was Chairman of the CFR until Peter G. Peterson, banker, hedge fund hyena, and Rothschild associate, took over the position.[2] [3] Robert Rubin later took the post but David Rockefeller has remained an honorary chairman ever since.[4]
While Clinton herself is not an official member of the CFR, her affiliations with the organization are abundantly clear as she herself admits. On July 15, 2009, Clinton spoke to the Washington DC satellite facility of the CFR where she stated,
I am delighted to be here in these new headquarters. I have been often to, I guess, the mother ship in New York City, but it’s good to have an outpost of the Council right here down the street from the State Department.
We get a lot of advice from the Council, so this will mean I won’t have as far to go to be told what we should be doing and how we should think about the future.
Clinton’s speech then went on to address the “global agenda,” “global consensus,” and “global architecture” of the coming years.
Despite her own lack of official membership with the CFR, an invited address to the organization often functions as a means of acceptance into the group. In other words, it should be understood as a de facto membership.
Nevertheless, both Clinton’s husband and daughter are indeed official members of the CFR.[7]
When Hillary was appointed as Secretary of State, her own first appointment to the agency was George Mitchell, not only a member of the CFR but also a former director.[8] Mitchell owed the jumpstart of his political career to Jimmy Carter, another member of the CFR.[9]
Clinton’s ties to the Council on Foreign Relations are solid and her foreign policy as well as her domestic policies should serve as ample evidence that the agenda of the CFR and the agenda of Hillary Clinton are one in the same.

New eye witness testimony indicates that the FBI and other federal agencies were never fired upon, but have shot and killed leading protester, Robert ‘Lavoy’ Finicum, and wounding one other in a elaborate operation that took place along a rural highway near Burns, Oregon.
For 26 days since the protest and occupation began at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge outside of Burns, Oregon there were no one was hurt and there were no injuries. That all changed early Tuesday evening when the FBI and Oregon State Police raised the ante, bringing the 4 week standoff to a dramatic ending.
As detailed in yesterday’s report, according to 18 yr old passenger and eyewitness, Victoria Sharp, dozens of federal vehicles and armed agents had set-up a pre-positioned roadblocks along an isolated stretch of rural Highway 395 before intercepting two vehicles and firing upon one of them, killing rancher and protest spokesman, Robert ‘Lavoy’ Finicum, from Chino Valley, Arizona, and wounding Ryan Bundy of Bunkerville, Nevada.
A total of 8 persons were detained, 5 of whom were charged with conspiracy to impede federal officers and are waiting arraignment.

Some confusion arose over the last 24 hours regarding the authenticity of a proxy statement broadcast Portland’s local affiliate KATU, where Ammon Bundy’s attorney’s was intimating that Bundy had asked protesters to, “stand down and go home to your families.” Apparently, Bundy’s wife Lisa has since released an audio statement where she confirms that these were indeed Ammon’s wishes for the remaining protesters at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge.

According to the official FBI statement: “We feel that it is necessary to show the whole thing unedited in the interest of transparency.”
The FBI video entitled, “Complete, Unedited Video of Joint FBI and OSP Operation 01/26/2016″, does show the victim Lavoy Finicum exiting the truck awkwardly in at least two feet of snow, and he clearly does not “charge towards” the SWAT team, and his hands are clearly held high above his head as he exits his truck when confronted by a SWAT team, before being shot multiple times by marksmen and falling in the snow. Also, the scale and size of this operation is very evident by the footage, and the apprehension of the protesters was not the result of a mere “traffic stop” as it was wrongly characterized in multiple mainstream media reports.
On its own, this FBI drone footage would appear to support previous government and media claims by CNN, Washington Post and others that the victim was indeed “reaching towards his waistband” which gave federal and state police justification to unleash deadly force. However, it is still not completely clear from this aerial footage whether or not Finicum was holstered (he is said to normally carry a gun on the right hip, but FBI are claiming he had a 9mm gun in his inside left breast pocket), but also whether or not he lowered his arms before, or after he was shot multiple times. For example, if Finicum had his hands in the air and was then was shot in the abdomen first, then any man’s natural reaction would be to then lower his hand(s) and clutch the wound. Additionally, if any shots were fired, even in the vicinity, then confusion could have ensued which might have prompted Finicum to reach for his weapon. Either way, it is impossible to make any such a forensic determination without a corresponding audio track – which would help to determine if any shots were fired before Finicum’s hand(s) could be seen lowering.

“With nearly 10,000 air strikes, we’re taking out their leadership, their oil, their training camps, their weapons,” Obama stated during his farewell State of the Union address earlier this month. Conveniently, in those 10,000 air strikes, he failed to include the bombings of hospitals, weddings, tribal council meetings, and, at least, eight U.S. citizens, with no concern for due process or a constitutionally mandated fair trial.
The Obama administration is also responsible for allowing the CIA to deploy drone strikes against a Yemeni wedding and a Pakistani tribal council meeting with total impunity.
On October 3, 2015, a U.S. airstrike killed at least 20 patients and MSF staff at a hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan, occupied by the group Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), the French charitable organization, “Doctors Without Borders.”
There is no question that the United States, in its carrying out of drone strikes and bombing campaigns throughout the Middle East, has killed thousands. However, the last thing the warmongers ever do is admit to these killings.
On Friday, that changed as the US Central Command admitted that they killed and injured multiple civilians in the ‘vicinity’ of a drone strike meant for Junaid Hussain, on August 13, 2015.
Sadly, it’s not surprising to those who pay attention to the atrocities carried out by the military-industrial complex, but what makes this case unique is that not only did the US admit to killing civilians, they also admitted to missing their target.
According to The Guardian, born in Birmingham, Hussain, 21, joined Isis’s “cyber caliphate” after a stint as part of the UK hacker group Team Poison. Known by the handle Trick and later Abu Hussain al-Britani, Hussain served six months in jail in 2012 for publishing details from an illegally obtained address book belonging to former prime minister Tony Blair.
For his alleged role in other high-profile hacking incidents, and in spite of his British citizenship, Hussain became the target of a US drone strike last year. But, instead of killing their target, the US government blew up noncombatants said to be “in the vicinity” of the strike, near IS’s Syrian capital of Raqqa.
Eleven days after killing innocent civilians, the US launched another strike on the British hacker on August 24. With the UK playing a “consulting” role, Hussain was actually confirmed killed this time. However, it is unknown how many civilians were killed in this strike.
Since the inception of the war on terror, US drone strikes have killed thousands of innocent civilians, including hundreds of children throughout Yemen, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, and Syria.
Michael Haas, Brandon Bryant, Cian Westmoreland and Stephen Lewis, who served as drone operators in the US Air Force, have gone public with detailed accounts of the widespread corruption and institutionalized indifference to civilian casualties that characterize the program.
After the U.S. Government failed to deter them through threats of criminal prosecution, and clumsy attempts to intimidate their families, these four former Air Force drone operators-turned-whistleblowers had their credit cards and bank accounts frozen.
There is no question — those who expose the crimes of the US government become enemies of the state.
For more than a decade, this reckless US policy of “surgical” drone strikes has done nothing to stave off terrorism and only served to foster it by turning the families of the innocent victims into sworn enemies of America.
The reality is that since 9-11, the US and their NATO allies have fostered a breeding ground for extremist and fundamentalist groups. As Americans sat back on their couches and watched the “Shock and Awe” on CNN, the US was sowing the seeds for perpetual war.
They were planting a garden in which a million Bin Ladens would later bloom.
This policy played right into the hands of the, then, tiny and insignificant fundamentalist groups. However, every time a US bomb dropped into a village, this was a recruiting haven for the fundamentalists. Now, a group who was never heard of 3 years ago is recruiting people on a global scale and growing their ranks daily.
As drone whistleblower Staff Sgt. Brandon Bryant said in his open letter to Barack Obama, “We kill four and create 10. If you kill someone’s father, uncle or brother who had nothing to do with anything, their families are going to want revenge.”
It’s time to stop this cycle.

However, it is still not completely clear from this aerial footage whether or not Finicum was holstered (he is said to normally carry a gun on the right hip, but FBI are claiming he had a 9mm gun in his inside left breast pocket), but also whether or not he lowered his arms before, or after he was shot multiple times. For example, if Finicum had his hands in the air and was then was shot in the abdomen first, then any man’s natural reaction would be to then lower his hand(s) and clutch the wound. Additionally, if any shots were fired, even in the vicinity, then confusion could have ensued which might have prompted Finicum to reach for his weapon. Either way, it is impossible to make any such a forensic determination without a corresponding audio track – which would help to determine if any shots were fired before Finicum’s hand(s) could be seen lowering.
Finicum was known to carry a Colt 45 on his right hip, but according to the FBI statement, Finicum is said to have reached toward his left pocket with his right hand. “Finicum did have a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun in that pocket,” the FBI stated.
Finicum appears to temporarily lose his balance in the snow at the very moment he looks to be hit by agents.
What is clear however from this video is that armed agents did not shoot to disable their suspect, but shot to kill and even had a laser sight trained on him for many minutes after he was downed. Clearly, multiple SWAT shooters could be seen emerging from the woods. After killing Finicum, police then left the victim to bleed to death laying in the snow and did not check on him for at least another 8 minutes.
Flash-bang rounds can be seen around the 14:00 mark of the FBI’s ‘unedited’ version, and the FBI has said that it fired CS gas and ‘non lethal rounds’ (possibly pepper spray rounds, or rubber bullets) are said to have been fired at the truck while the passengers were inside. This begs the question: with nonlethal rounds already in play – why did multiple SWAT shooters use so many deadly rounds against Finicum when he exited the truck with his hands up?
