British ‘Inquiry’ and Mainstream Media Present Conspiracy Theories in Litvinenko Case

Read Time:55 Second

Last week’s British ‘inquiry’ into the death of Alexander Litvinenko headed by Judge Robert Owen, concluded that the Kremlin “probably, might have” ordered, or “approved” death by Polonium 210 for the Russian defector turned MI6 super spy. Despite claims by David Cameron’s cabinet, the ‘explosive’ findings seem to be anything but conclusive…

Sunday Wire host Patrick Henningsen reviews the British findings, as well as mainstream media’s coverage of the case. While conspiracy theories swirl around implicating Putin (for this and many other things), the publicly available version of the British report doesn’t inspire much confidence, as its riddled with the following ambiguities:

“may have…” appears 52 times in the report.
“might have…” appears 32 times in the report.
“could have…” appears 33 times in the report.
“probably…” appears 34 times in the report.

Where’s the beef here? Why no inquiries into VIP child abuse in the UK? Does Washington want to reinvent Boris Yeltsin?

Zeta virus hits Dad’s Army fans in major health scare

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 35 Second

A recent outbreak of the Zeta virus has caused a major public health scare. Thought to be activated by pictures of Catherine Zeta-Jones, the virus mainly affects old men, particularly those called Douglas or Michael. Pictures of Zeta-Jones attending Tuesday’s premier of the film Dad’s Army in a revealing blue dress triggered an outbreak of acute cases, but longer-term chronic effects are expected to trouble those old enough to sit through the film itself, in which Zeta-Jones plays a journalist.

Tropical diseases expert Dr Jane Worsthorne, 43, said it was too early to say whether the Zeta virus was a mutation of the Zika virus which has much of South America in its grip. ‘Zika is most dangerous to young pregnant women,’ she said, ‘while Zeta tends to strike that section of the population for whom getting anyone pregnant is usually a distant memory. Having said that, initial symptoms often include a remarkable, though short-lived, increase in libido and reversal of erectile dysfunction.’

After the initial effects wear off, victims usually suffer a delusional Zeta fixation for periods ranging from hours to weeks, before progressing to the final stages which usually involve sobbing quietly. While rarely fatal, the virus can cause potentially harmful palpitations and a rise in blood pressure.

While Zika is spread by mosquitoes, which flourish in stagnant water, the Zeta virus is thought to be transmitted by the nostalgia bug, which thrives best in warm beer drunk by groups of potential sufferers. It then lies dormant until aroused by an appropriate, or more likely inappropriate, picture.

With a vaccine said to be ten years or more away, most experts think it more likely that the disease will die out naturally, as the power of the Zeta image reduces and potential sufferers fall prey to other age-related health problems instead.

Mario Lopez Interview Helps Nab Dick Cheney

Read Time:53 Second

Television personality Mario Lopez’s recent meeting with Dick Cheney may have led authorities to him.

According to USA Today, the interview of Cheney for Bananas magazine by the former Saved by the Bell star was one of the “avenues of opportunity” that eventually resulted in the war criminal’s capture.

“He (Cheney) thought he was being clever,” an unnamed American official reportedly remarked on the elaborate precautionary measures Cheney forced Lopez to follow in order to prevent his whereabouts from being deduced. “But he wasn’t.”

Authorities ultimately identified the location of Cheney’s secret Wyoming compound by cloud patterns and the Cheyenne Herald newspaper visible at times during the interview’s footage.

“Mr. Cheney is actually a very gentle man,” Lopez said of the former Vice President. “He enjoys watching Family Feud and having his head rubbed.”

Other details from the interview reveal that Mr. Cheney prefers puppies over kittens, doesn’t know what an emoji is, doesn’t have a favorite color, doesn’t eat pizza, doesn’t prefer either Twitter or Instagram, wears briefs, and can’t remember the last album he bought.

Racist Gorilla Leaps to Top of Republican Polls

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 21 Second

GOP newcomer Racist Gorilla has taken a commanding lead over all his Republican rivals just one week after announcing his candidacy for president, every major national poll now indicates.

The three hundred and fifty-pound silverback gorilla was urged to run by his handlers after being discovered at the Charlotte Animal Park in North Carolina earlier this month.

“Racist Gorilla possesses all the traits crucial to making him a strong Republican candidate for president,” Racist Gorilla’s campaign manager Hollis Livingston remarked. “He’s a strong leader with firm conservative values, walks partially upright, and can spot a Jew from one hundred yards away.”

According to visitors of the zoo where the primate also known as Eugene has spent most of his life, Racist Gorilla earned his more familiar moniker from a habit of flinging feces at minorities.

“If you have dark skin or are wearing something other than a baseball cap or a cowboy hat on your head, watch out near the gorilla exhibit at the Charlotte Zoo,” one local laughed.

Not inexperienced with taking on liberals, Racist Gorilla has reportedly spent the better part of the last two decades arguing with homosexuals and black people.

“He doesn’t back down,” zookeeper Michelle Gates noted. “Eugene doesn’t just throw his excrement and then run and hide. He gets in the faces of these people.”

Livingston went on to defend his candidate from claims that being a gorilla should make Racist Gorilla ineligible to run for president.

“Testing has shown that, at 98.2% DNA homology with the human genome, Racist Gorilla is actually more human than both Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.”

Donald Trump: “No more Muslims, no more Spics, no more Jews with their dirty tricks!”

Read Time:1 Minute, 12 Second

The crowd cheered last night at the Raleigh Convention Center when Donald Trump strode on stage with his arms held high and shouted, “No more Muslims, no more Spics, no more Jews with their dirty tricks!” The crowd went wild cheering and clapping.

Trump: “Don’t get me wrong, some of my best friends are Jews.” He hesitated, “but you know, enough is enough!”

Crowd: “Enough is enough!”

Trump: “And as far as the Indians go, you know, the ones with the dots and the ones with the feathers. The ones with the dots should go back to India where they came from and work for AOL and the ones with the feathers should go back to the reservation, make rugs and pots and try to pawn them off on the Antiques Road Show!”

The crowd cheered and stomped their feet.

Trump: “We are going to make America great once again! So, holster up, puff up, put your baseball caps on backwards, and be proud to be a redneck. He paused, threw his arms in the air and shouted, “BETTER RED THAN DEAD!!”

The crowd cheered.

Trump: “Together, we can do it! Our battle cry going forward, he paused, “Give hate a chance!”

The Associated Press reports that Trump cut his talk short to mingle with the crowd kissing babies and signing tattoos. Each person at the rally was given a Trump campaign t-shirt that reads:

“Leave no assholes behind!”

Two suicide bombers dead after targeting school in north Cameroon

0 0
Read Time:57 Second

Two suicide bombers died on Thursday when they targeted a school in northern Cameroon, local officials said, the latest attack in the central African country which is struggling to contain violence blamed on Boko Haram militants in neighbouring Nigeria.

There were no other reported deaths in the double suicide bomb attack, though an unknown number of people were injured, one official said.

“The double attack occurred in the public school in the town of Kerawa,” the official said.

While there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, northern Cameroon has become the scene of increasingly frequent suicide attacks as Boko Haram Islamist militants step up cross-border violence that has also affected Chad and Niger.

An attack targeting a market in north Cameroon three days ago killed 32 people and wounded 66 in one of the deadliest attacks in the country to date.

One source said the school in Kerawa targeted on Thursday had been housing Nigerian refugees.

Boko Haram has killed thousands of people and driven more than two million from their homes during its six-year insurgency in one of the world’s poorest regions.

Senator says Saraki is ‘irremovable’

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 43 Second

Senator Dino Melaye has reportedly described Senate President, Bukola Saraki as irremovable.

Melaye made the comment on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, during the inauguration ceremony of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, according to The Cable.

“I have the privilege to appreciate the best chairman of the best political party in south of the Sahara and north of the Limpopo, former governor, former permanent secretary, the only authentic chairman that produced the most transparent president in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun,” he said.

“May I also have the honour and privilege to introduce the representative of the irremovable president of the senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, ably represented here today by the chairman of the committee on works, former governor of Kano state, Senator Kabiru Gaya.

“May I also have the privilege to introduce the speaker by force of the house of representatives ably represented here by Hon. Pategi, talking about Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

“Kogi state said yes to Abubakar Audu, the entire north-central said yes to Abubakar Audu but the Almighty voted for Yahaya Bello. Give 3 hehyah to the PDP.

“Bye bye to jakujaku! Bye bye to WadaWada! Insha Allah! Bye bye to jakujaku! We are here to make history. There is no better time to ameliorate to palliate, to correct all the rubbish and beautiful nonsense that has bedeviled our state for the past 12 years.

“I want to apologise on behalf of the outgoing government of Kogi state for the rigorous exercise of coming into Kogi state. The roads are bad, students are not in school, salaries have not been paid.

“Someone told me that even the political appointees of the governor have not received salary in four months. I assure you that the era of change is here. Today a minority in Kogi state is the governor of Kogi state,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bello, who was inaugurated without a deputy, has promised to rule the state with fairness.

Lawyer replies Okonjo-Iweala, calls her a liar

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 17 Second

Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, has replied the former minister of finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s comments about him.

You will recall that the ex-minister alleged that Falana made the statement because she “hurt the interests of his corrupt sponsors” while she was in office.

Falana, in his reply, said Iweala’s service to Nigeria was characterised by lies and deceit.

He said “Her baseless attack is not unusual as she is always quick to deflect criticisms by accusing anyone seeking to hold her to account for her appalling records in government of ulterior political motives.

“When former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, alleged that about N30tn could not be accounted for under her watch, he was described as ‘an embittered loser in the Nigerian political space.”

“When Governor Adams Oshiomhole questioned the illegal withdrawal of $2bn from the Excess Crude Account, he was accused of having animus towards her because she had blocked Edo State from obtaining a loan.

“Therefore, instead of exchanging vulgar abuse with the former minister, I shall respond to the diversionary allegations which lacerated her response and the attempt to extricate herself from the mass looting of the commonwealth under her watch,” Falana said.

Punch reports that the human rights lawyer also faulted claims by Okonjo-Iweala, saying that only $500m was recovered from the Abacha loot.

Femi Falana was the Ekiti state Governorship candidate of the National Conscience Party(NCP) in 2007.

Reps to investigate alleged sharing of N50m,150 motorcycles to members

0 0
Read Time:55 Second

The House of Representatives, on Thursday mandated its Committee on Ethics and Privileges to investigate the alleged sharing of N50 million and 150 motorcycles to members by the House leadership.

This followed a point of privilege raised by Rep. Yakubu Barde (Kaduna-PDP), the Deputy Minority Whip.

The lawmaker alleged that a member, Rep. Mohammed Abubakar (Kaduna-APC) had granted an interview on a local radio station, saying that money and motorcycles were given to members.

Barde said that the issue needed to be investigated because he did not collect such money or motorcycle.

According to him, he has been under pressure by his constituents who are demanding for their share of the money and motorcycles.

“This is an allegation, considering the present economic situation of Nigeria. As lawmakers, we have to be very careful to ensure our image is not tarnished.

“Nigerians need to know what really happened,’’ Barde said.

In his ruling, the Speaker of the House, Mr Yakubu Dogara referred the matter to the committee, and urged it to report back to the House within four weeks.
