Victim Joseph Brown-Lartey, 24, a marketing officer who was driving through a green light at the time, suffered massive injuries in the impact and was killed instantly. A police officer at the scene said he had 'never seen such destruction of a vehicle travelling on urban roads'.

Addil was jailed for six years after he admitted dangerous driving, causing death by dangerous driving, causing death whilst unlicensed and causing death whilst uninsured. He was also banned from driving for six years.

Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester was told the tragedy occurred on November 9 last year after Haroon, who was studying for an NVQ in motor vehicle repairs, acquired the £22,000 2013 Audi A6 which Lisa Boocock, prosecuting, described as a 'trophy car, impressive and a powerful car'.

A friend hired it on behalf of Haroon as he only held a provisional licence and he had been giving lifts to a number of his friends.

One, Muhammed Yasin, received social media and text messages from Haroon boasting about his fast driving and, during a journey on the M62 on November 8, noticed the teenager had his mobile phone between his knees and was text messaging whilst driving.

Fuel Palaver: May 29 Handover Date Set to Be Postponed Indefinitely

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 11 Second

Despite the recent Directive by a Senate Committee on Petroleum to Oil Marketers, the distribution of Petroleum Products to filling stations around the country has been very slow, causing commercial activity to grind to halt.

The Situation has been the same, From Lagos to Abuja, and the ramifications might become all too glaring after we got word that the Fuel Situation might result in postponement of the May 29 Presidential Handover.

News bits coming in from Aso Rock tell us that the outgoing Government is seriously considering postponing the Handover date, traditionally slated for May 29, to June 5, as a result of fuel scarcity.

An Aso Rock spokesperson told us, under condition of anonymity, that as at Press Time this morning, there was no Diesel in the Eagle Square Generator, and there had been no light at Aso Rock for the past 2 days.

“My brother how do we handover when there is no fuel? and you know PHCN or is it NEPA is pretty much non existent. We might have to consider moving it till this fuel palaver eases”.

Gen Buhari, who just arrived Abuja for the inauguration, was fuming when he was told about the possible postponement.

“Walahi, that is not fossible. We must hand over on the 29th. I farsonally brought my own generator with me. I will not take no por an answer, the show must gwo on”.

Davido Secretly Weds Baby Mama

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 40 Second

The recent revelations getting to our headquarters is that Davido has just managed to pull of a very secret wedding to his baby mama, Sophie Momodu on Saturday 23rd of May, barely a week after she put to bed. The wedding was held at a very top secret location at Canary Islands.

This is very shocking because it was all a top secret which was not meant to be revealed until much later, but we received a tip-off from a source very close to Davido himself, and we although we were unable to confirm it from the superstar himself, we however struck gold when another independent source collaborated our story.

According to the first tip-off we received, Davido had been going out with Dele Momodu’s cousin, Sophie Momodu who got pregnant for him. Our source revealed that the journalist-cum politician Dele Momodu who has been known to be a man of strong reputation was not happy with the situation and insisted that Sophie must get married to the father if her baby.

Davido who wishes to avoid a scandal due to the damage it might cause to career promised to marry her in a very low-key and secret wedding in order to legally confer paternity on the child. Thus the plan was to marry Sophie and divorce her sometime later, after which the child would legally be Davido’s.

Hence, after Sophie put to bed on the 15th, our source confirmed that Mr. Momodu reminded Davido of his agreement, and the necessary arrangements were made. The marriage which was attended by only close family members and top members of the HKN Gang was a formal affair devoid of the usual glamour which occasions celebrity weddings.

However, as we all know in this country, no aspect of a celebrity’s life can remain private, and no matter how much they try to keep their affairs in secret, the truth always comes out in the end,
