The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has cancelled its tomorrow’s sit-at-home order. Disclosing this in a statement signed by Emma Powerful, the group gave reasons for the cancellation, fixing 28 June as sit-at-home.

Recall that the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Wednesday, deferred the trial of the detained leader of the IPOB,  Nnamdi Kanu, to June 28.

Kanu’s lead counsel Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, disclosed this in a statement. He said that Kanu’s case would no longer proceed as earlier scheduled due to the unavailability of the trial judge, Justice Binta Nyako.

His words: “Please be informed that we have just received communication from the Federal High Court’s Registrar, notifying us that the Court will no longer be sitting tomorrow, 26th May, 2022, on Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case.

“According to the Registrar, this is because His lordship, Justice Binta Nyako is indisposed, and as such, the matter is now adjourned to the 28th day of June, 2022 for Ruling/Hearing.

“We most respectfully, urge you all to maintain restraint, as you have always done. Keep your eyes on the ball, which is the freedom of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“Also, please note that Justice delayed is not justice denied. We are aggressively cruising to victory, it is only a matter of time.

“We profoundly appreciate your solidarity, unflinching support and prayers, which have been sustaining us thus far. Please do not relent in your prayers, we do not take it for granted.

“We shall continue to keep you all informed as events unfold”, Ejiofor stated.

Reacting to his statement said the group has accepted the adjournment of the case, noting that: “there will be no sit-at-home in regard to tomorrow’s case instead sit-at-home will hold on 28th June, 2022.”

Read Time:1 Minute, 48 Second

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has declared a curfew in the state. The governor made the declaration in a state broadcast on Wednesday evening in Awka.

Soludo took the decision following reports of wanton killings, kidnappings and other insecurity issues affecting the state.

The former governor of the Central Bank equally banned motorcycles, keke and shuttle buses from operating on Mondays.

According to him: “With effect from tomorrow, Friday, 26th May, 2022, a 6pm to 6am curfew is hereby placed on motorcycles (okada), tricycles (keke), and shuttle buses in Aguata, Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Ogbaru, Orumba North and Orumba South Local Governments until further notice.

Until further notice also, motorcycles, keke and shuttle buses are banned from operating in these local governments on Mondays until the Sit-at-Home completely stops. The youths of every community in the zone are hereby enjoined to assist the security agencies in the implementation of this policy and are mandated to seize any such motorcycle or tricycle on the spot.

“Local Vigilantes should report such motorcycles or tricycles (keke) immediately, and they will be confiscated by the government and the owner prosecuted. The Okada, Keke, and shuttle bus union leaders must take responsibility to report their members who are involved in criminal activities. We shall review this after two weeks, and if members of these unions continue to be involved in criminal activities, the government will have no choice but to either disband the Unions and/or ban them out rightly in the state.

“No part of Anambra State (house, bush or forest) shall be used as camps for these criminals. Anyone with a gun in a camp is considered a criminal in Anambra State, and the government and people will work with security agencies to flush them out.

“The State Government shall pursuant to its powers under the Land Use Act revoke and acquire any land found to be harbouring these criminals, for public purpose. Henceforth, every community is required to provide information on any part of their land occupied by these criminals as camps. If the community fails to do so, the government will take over such land.”

Lagos Teacher Flogs Pupil Over Homework, Victim Vomits, Dies

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 56 Second

A student of Simple Faith Schools, Agbara, Lagos, has died after he was allegedly flogged by his teacher. Emmanuel Amidu died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Surulere.
The victim’s father, Akinola Amidu, claimed that the 12-year-old JSS2 student was flogged by a teacher at school for not completing his assignment on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

He said his son started vomiting shortly after the beating and was rushed to a hospital, where he gave up the ghost on Friday, May 13, 2022.
The father alleged that the school management was covering up his son’s death and protecting the mathematics teacher, one Steven, who flogged Emmanuel and the rest of the class for failing to do their homework, Punch reports.

He said: “I was at home that Thursday because I was on leave. I recall that Emmanuel asked me for money to buy a new exercise book and I gave him N500 to buy the book and give the remaining change to his sister.
“Later that day, I was called by the management of the school that Emmanuel was vomiting. Meanwhile, this was a boy who left home without any health issues. I had to go to the school, and we moved him to a hospital.
“I later learnt that the whole thing started after their class teacher, Mr Steven, beat the whole of his class for not completing their mathematics assignment.
“Emmanuel was actually using my phone torchlight to do his assignment a day before, but I had to collect the phone from him and his sister because I needed to be in contact with the office. We had issues with our electricity at home.

“It was at LUTH that I lost my son. Meanwhile, the management of the school quickly ran to the Morogbo Police Station at Agbara to report that my son died from vomiting.
“How can somebody just die from vomiting if nothing triggers it? The management of the school is trying to protect the teacher.”
Akinola, 45, demanded the arrest and prosecution of the teacher.

The school Principal, Adetayo Akanji, told Punch: “I was there when Emannuel died on Friday and it was unfortunate that it happened this way. Yes, Steven flogged the whole class for not doing their sums, but not with the intention to hurt them.’

Why Tonto Dikeh was detained in Dubai – Bobrisky

0 0
Read Time:3 Minute, 8 Second
The latest verbal war seemed to be because of Kemi Olunloyo, the controversial journalist.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the 30-year-old cross-dresser also used the medium to demand from the actress what he claimed to be “N5 million you are owing me.”
Trouble started a few days ago after Tonto and Olunloyo engaged in a feisty war of words on social media.
The actress had last week called out the journalist over her allegation that she’s into weapons and hard drugs.
Tonto also threatened to make sure Olunloyo “return to jail”.
Reacting to the actress’ threat, Olunloyo said Tonto could not take her to jail because she knows her secrets.
The journalist also reiterated her claim that the movie star is in possession of a gun and had been using hard drugs.
Apparently cheesed off, Tonto had threatened to pay Olunloyo a visit and “run her up on the streets” if she doesn’t back up her allegation with proof.
Weighing into the fight, Bobrisky said Tonto can’t do anything to Olunloyo, because he got her back.
The crossdresser, who used to be “best friends” with the actress, also admitted that Olunloyo’s allegations were “indeed true”.
In the now-deleted post, the Snapchat celebrity claimed Tonto was once arrested and jailed in Dubai for being drunk and smoking weed.
“We stopped talking in 2020 if I can remember. Well then, I was your heaven and earth. Fast forward to your arrest in Dubai Tonto,” he claimed.
“You insulted Dubai police cos you were drunk and high asf. I tried my best to control you back then, I couldn’t.
“Fast forward Dubai police locked your a** up for two good days in their cell. Nobody knew where you were locked up.
“After two days you were released and the police collected ur phone and weed they caught you with you and charge you to court. I removed my SIM card and gave you my phone just to make sure you quickly post some pictures on ur page so that Stella and other blogs won’t laugh at us.
“I paid for our hotels bills feeding. We were stuck in Dubai for three months all ur mouth you had no one to save your ass. Even ur so-called boyfriends then stop picking ur calls cos you were giving them so much headache, I was the only soul who stood by you.
“Fast forward when an influencer paid me then to influence for her she got angry and ask me to refund her cos I was with you in Dubai instead of doing her job I begged that lady to send some of the hair for me Dubai so I can be working since I was stocked in Dubai with you.
“I was with you for three months then you didn’t see as a bad friend. Fast forward, you were wearing all my gowns I bought to wear in Lagos just because you didn’t come with enough cloths till now many are still with you.
“I gave you 1m to add to fine Dubai police gave you for seeing you with weed. Fast forward, Tonto after two months ur rent in Abuja was due, ur estate payment was due, ur Son needed some money to feed we agreed after the third month I will fly back to abj to sort those bills for you. I flew back to Abuja and I bob sorted all d bills for you.”
Bobrisky had in September last year apologised for “humiliating” Tonto during her failed relationship with Prince Kpokpogri.
In December 2019, on the occasion of their four-year anniversary as friends, the cross-dresser had promised the actress “loyalty till death”.
