National Chairman, All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Victor Oye has dismissed claims by some individuals purportedly identifying as a faction of the party, maintaining that APGA has no faction in Anambra State.
Oye, while speaking on, The Morning Show on Arise TV, Wednesday, said the other people are only junketing and masquerading seeking to default.
He said, “We are the real people. APGA has no faction. Other people are just moving from one place to another.
When asked about the preparation of his party for primaries, Oye said, “Our party is ready. We’ve submitted the lists of our officers from wards to national across Nigeria and we’ve also submitted the list of our members from all the wards in Nigeria to INEC.
“We met the deadline. We’ve submitted the list of our ad-hoc and statutory delegates. We also met the deadline for the House of Representatives, Senate and governorship,” he said.
Speaking on the leadership tussle between him and Edozie Njoku, Oye described Njoku as an impostor saying his role and attempts to obtain a forged judgment were sacrilegious.
It will be recalled that Njoku was sacked as APGA’s national chairman by the lower court in Jigawa State, and lost at the appellate court afterwards.
Since then, hostility between the duo has lingered, while Oye remained insistent that nothing more was hanging on the issue of Njoku, after investigations revealed that the judgment obtained at the Supreme Court was “false, altered, tampered with by Edozie Njoku and co.”

TEXT OF BROADCAST TO THE PEOPLE OF RIVERS STATE BY IMMEDIATE PAST GOVERNOR OF RIVERS STATE RT HON. CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI ON THE NEW YEAR’S DAY MASSACRE IN OMOKU & INSECURITY IN RIVERS STATE.
My dear people of Rivers State, it is with profound grief I address you today.
In the past few years, we have suffered and endured a debilitating state of insecurity in Rivers state. Many lives have been cut short while many more have been maimed. Hopes and dreams have been dashed; families distraught and destroyed. Murderous cult groups and rival gangs reign supreme. Our once peaceful State has lost its serenity and lustre. We are now been derisively referred to as ‘Rivers of Blood’.
However, the killings in Omoku in the first few hours of this new year and the uninspiring, inept, blame-game response of a State government that swore to an oath to protect every Rivers man and woman should collectively compel us to action and scream that we’ve had enough of the insecurity and bloodbath.
In the early hours of New Year’s Day, defenceless residents of Omoku were gruesomely attacked and murdered on their way home from the new year cross over night church service. 23 men, women and children were murdered in the attack. In the first couple of days of this new year, people have also been murdered in Andoni and Egbeda.
Some 48 hours after the Omoku massacre, the response of the governor and government of Rivers State whose primary responsibility is to protect you from these kind of attacks was a gabble blather about a two hundred million naira bounty and to launch another round of attacks on me because I politely advised them to protect Rivers people or resign from office.
Like most of you, I was shocked, utterly disgusted to hear the man, who, I must repeat, took an oath to protect you, attempts to justify and casually explain away the cold-blooded murder of innocent Rivers people in Omoku on New Year’s Day. The governor’s attempt to justify and compare the Omoku murders or any other killings in Rivers State to whatever is happening in any other part of the country is a deceitful, poisonous narrative that we must never allow to flourish. The governor’s repugnant attempt at finger pointing, blaming oil companies, opposition politicians and everyone else apart from himself, is a clear indication that he has abdicated his primary constitutional responsibility to safeguard lives and property.
You know, and many outside Rivers State know that the nature and type of insecurity, violence and carnages in the State are unique and peculiar to the State. The madness in Rivers State since the advent of these NEW men of power is rooted firmly in the witchcraft politics of those who now preside over the affairs of the State. They lack the political will and have devilishly refused to halt the violence and killings, and restore some level of sanity in the State because of their mischievous politics and voodoo electoral calculations.
Let no one deceive you with a twisted narrative on the origins, causes and solutions to the bloodbath in Rivers State. Most of you can attest to how I battled and tackled insecurity when I served as your governor. I led the fight against the cultists, gangs, thugs and criminals masquerading as militants; they were driven out from hiding, many fled the State. I was able to do that because I was never in bed with the criminals; I never appointed any into political office or crowned any king. The administration I led was able to return the State to serenity from the horrible state of insecurity and violence we met when we took over. Rivers people enjoyed peace until the months leading up to the 2015 general elections when these ‘new’ men of power in the state introduced unprecedented violence and killings in the State.
We cannot continue to live like this. The Omoku massacre is the breaking point where we must all collectively rise up and raise our voices to say we’ve had enough. The governor and Chief Security Officer of the State who swore an oath to protect us must now protect us or resign from office. We will no longer tolerate his inability and/or refusal to protect defenceless citizens. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost loved ones in the Omoku attack, as we continue to pray for the repose of the souls of those who were murdered. I assure you that the federal government will begin to protect you.
I wish everyone the very best and a peaceful, happy new year.

As Saudi Prince Meshaal bin Abdulaziz made up a plan to receive a huge amount of money to topple Crown Prince Muhammad bin Nayef and elevate Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman to the position of Crown Prince, Saudi Arabia seems to be preparing for of an impending coup d’état.
After disputes surged over the appointment of the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Meshaal bin Abdulaziz, who is the former chairman of Saudi Arabia’s Allegiance Commission, decided to leave the country. King Salman then wrote him a letter and asked to return. Meshaal bin Abdulaziz demanded a large sum of money as a precondition for his returning to the country so that he could implement Muhammed bin Salman’s plan of rising to a higher position.
Till now, Muhammed bin Salman has gained 28 of 40 Allegiance Commission votes and certainly has no obstacle to achieve power. The matter is not about the time or the change of coup process, what matters more is the time of announcing the coup and delegating the rule to bin Salman.
On December 2015, after having been dismissed from the post of the crown prince and being replaced by Muhammad bin Nayef (Muhammad bin Salman being appointed to the position of deputy crown prince), something that was attributed to the Allegiance Commission, Meshaal bin Abdulaziz left Saudi Arabia for Switzerland.

…At the time Amaechi left office, R/S was getting less than N10b monthly allocation
The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State is dismayed that two years after the 2015 elections, Gov. Nyesom Wike is still carrying on with his style of campaigns full of bare-faced lies and misrepresentation of facts to unsuspecting Rivers people.
The governor yesterday (Sunday) told the Synod of Anglican Church in the house of God that the administration of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was receiving between N27b and N30b monthly federal allocation while the present federal government has cut the allocation for the State under his administration. He blamed the alleged move on attempts to sabotage his government.
Firstly, if the Amaechi administration received anything close to N25b during his 8-year tenure it must be for less than 6 months in his first tenure when Nyesom Wike was Chief of Staff to former Gov. Chibuike Amaechi. That was when oil price was at its highest and the over 300 oil wells taken away by the Goodluck Jonathan government were still property of Rivers State.
For more than three years of the Amaechi second tenure after Soku and other oil wells had been taken and transferred to other states coupled with dwindling oil prices and production levels, the government then was receiving less than N10b monthly allocations up till 2015.
If Gov. Wike is receiving less than N10b allocations today, he is in part responsible for the fate the State is facing. He encouraged the Jonathan administration to take away Rivers oil wells believing that he was undoing Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. It would be recalled that the former governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi had earlier warned Gov Wike of what he (Wike) is complaining about today. Now, the chicken has come to roost, Gov. Wike should deal with it and save us his display of verbal indiscretion.
More significantly is the fact that Gov. Nyesom Wike, having successfully concealed the budgets of Rivers State from the people for the second year, has also refused to tell Rivers people that Rivers State last month received the highest sum of N14.5b Paris Loan Refund from the Buhari administration.
Instead of applauding the Buhari government for several bailouts funds, prompt refunds and general concern for the finances of states of Nigeria, Rivers State inclusive, Gov. Wike has rather chosen to bite the finger that feeds him. This is not surprising; after all, the governor has always been that especially to his benefactor, Chibuike Amaechi.
The APC believes that Gov. Nyesom Wike is merely diverting attention from being transparent with the finances of Rivers State by making misleading statements to Rivers people even in the hallowed ouse of God.

“His character was legendary, particularly when tested by the counter coup of 1966 and his trial where he was acquitted” the speaker said.
The Delta State House of Assembly presiding officer said Edo and Delta owed a great deal to Ogbemudia’s leadership.
“Ogbemudia really showed what difference an individual could make, what difference a leader could make”
He said Ogbemudia served with distinction as an administrator and a governor of the Mid West State, later Bendel State.

U.S. Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard made new surprising remarks on Friday in which she once again supported Syrian President Bashar Assad, calling him and the Iraqi premier “the most genuine people in their efforts to fight terrorism.”
The Hawaiian Democratic Representative who was being interviewed by CNN criticized U.S. policies of regime change in Syria saying she is ‘surprised’ by the media coverage of the Middle East crises. She said there are no moderate rebels in Syria but there are terrorist groups like al-Nusra, al-Qaeda and Ahrar al-Sham, and ISIS who are being provided support by the United States and other allies like Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar to topple the Syrian president.
“I believe the most genuine people in their efforts to fight terrorism right now are the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and the Syrian President Bashar Assad. We cannot ignore the great efforts of the Russian President Putin in supporting these two countries in fighting terrorist groups such as ISIS and al-Nusra,” claimed Gabbard. “The United States draws a distinction between terrorists, dividing them into good and bad terrorists.”
The U.S lawmaker had a seven-day trip to Syria and Lebanon in January where she met and talked with many Syrian refugees, Syrian opposition leaders, widows and family members of Syrians fighting alongside groups like al-Qaeda, as well as those fighting on the side of the government, and also some Christian clergymen of the war-stricken city of Aleppo.
Gabbard also had a secret meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad which drew strong criticism from many people. She called the regime change war ‘counterproductive’ saying it does not serve America’s interest or the interest of the Syrian people.
Upon her return, Gabbard released a statement in defending herself saying “Originally, I had no intention of meeting with Assad, but when given the opportunity, I felt it was important to take it. I think we should be ready to meet with anyone if there’s a chance it can help bring about an end to this war, which is causing the Syrian people so much suffering.”
“As I visited with people from across the country, and heard heartbreaking stories of how this war has devastated their lives, I was asked, ‘Why is the United States and its allies helping al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups try to take over Syria? Syria did not attack the United States. Al-Qaeda did.’ I had no answer,” Gabbard stated
Later in February, her Stop Arming Terrorists Act was introduced in the U.S. Senate by Senator Rand Paul. The bipartisan legislation would prohibit any Federal agency from using taxpayer dollars to provide weapons, cash, intelligence, or any support to al-Qaeda, ISIS and other terrorist groups, and would prohibit the government from funneling money and weapons to terrorists through other countries who are directly or indirectly supporting them.
Although an Iraq War veteran, Gabbard was against the invasion of Iraq. She said in late 2012, “I was against the war in Iraq. We never should have gone there in the first place.” She believes that the United States’ victory conditions in Iraq were not been clearly defined. In 2014 she voted against renewed U.S. military engagement in Iraq.

The attention of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has been drawn to speculations in a section of the media and a Press Statement from the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) to the effect that the Agency is opposed to the establishment of the Maritime University at Okerenkoko, in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State
This assertion is far from the truth and it has become necessary to clarify the issue as the Federal Government is committed to the actualization of the project which the Agency conceived. It is pertinent to note that NIMASA is supporting every aspect of the law in its determination to fulfill its obligations.
In addition, the National Assembly recently held a public hearing on the matter and it is expected that the funding of the institution and other aspects of running it will be specified in the Act setting up the University.
For the avoidance of doubt, at no time did the Director General, Dr. Dakuku Peterside say anything contrary to the Federal Government’s position on the issue and we solidly stand behind the Federal Government on its determination to actualize the project.
The benefits derivable from the setting up of the institution will be quite numerous. Apart from becoming a citadel for knowledge and development of human capital, job opportunities will be created to the Nigerian people, particularly the community.
