I keep abducted victims in church and share the ransom with my pastor -Okafor

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested 38-year-old wanted kidnap suspect, Okafor, a graduate of Mathematics from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Okafor popularly known as Igwe did not only fall afoul of the law as a kidnapper, he also messed up the temple of God by keeping his victims in a church and sharing his loot with the pastor.

Once on a mission to collect N5 million ransom from the family of victim in Asaba, Delta State, he was rounded up by crack policemen and locked up in a cell.

Okafor, however, escaped through the window of the cell to continue his evil trade until the hardworking members of the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Anambra ended his reign of terror.

The kidnap kingpin spoke with Sunday Sun: “I graduated from Unizik in 2006 and I studied Mathematics. I did my NYSC in Abuja and I served in NNPC at Berger. After graduation I was going to Ghana to buy clothes to sell in Lagos State.

“I am now involved totally in kidnapping where I make quick money. When I kidnapped I used to take my victims to my church in Awkuzu where the General Overseer, Pastor Nwaezeagu always collects the victims from us and at the end, we would give him his own share. We decided to join the church so that the members would not suspect us that we were keeping some victims we kidnapped inside the church.”

“I was the one who was involved in the kidnapping of the traditional prime minister in Enugu-Ukwu and we collected N50 million from the victim before we released him and I gave Pastor Nwaezeagu his 20 per cent share on that day.

“I kidnapped another woman in Awka and collected N30 million from the family of victim and kept her in the church and, after the family paid the ransom, I released the suspect and I gave Pastor Nwaezeagu the sum of N200,000.” – THE SUN

An Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Tuesday remanded a 21-year-old housewife, Rebecca Bassey, in prison custody over alleged murder of a three -year-old girl.

The Magistrate,  Mr A.O. Akomolafe, remanded the accused, pending the outcome of an advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Frank Inah, had told the court that the accused committed the crime on July 22 at about 4.00 p.m. at her residence.

Bassey, of  No.158, Power Line St. Ijaye, Ojokoro, Lagos is facing a one-count charge of murder.

Inah said that the father of the dead girl had  accommodation problem and handed two of his children, including the deceased  to his younger brother Mr Vincent Bassey, who is the husband of  the suspect.

‘’The deceased took ill, vomiting and defecating on herself, the mess irritated the accused and she beat her up. In the process  of the beating, the deceased hit her head on a chair and started bleeding in the nose.

‘’The child was immediately rushed to a nearby general hospital and was later transferred to LUTH where she was confirmed dead on July 23.

‘’One  Mrs Kudirat Ogunseye, a woman leader at Jankara area of Ijaiye Ojokoro, reported the case to the police and the accused was arrested,’’ Inah stated.

The prosecutor said  that the offence contravened section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.

The Defence Counsel,  Mr Olabisi Coalhole, pleaded with the court to grant bail to the accused, arguing that it was a case of domestic accident and not murder as presented by the prosecutor.

No plea was taken and the magistrate adjourned the case till Oct 2 for mention

A*D*V*I*S*E! I told him Not to Release inside Me

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 47 Second
I am Pregnant for my young sister's husband. I travelled to Lagos to buy clothes for my shop about two months ago and had to spend a few days in my sister’s place.
I called her but her number wasn’t going so when I got to Lagos I contacted her husband who told me that she went to Ogun State on official assignment.
He agreed that I should come over and do my transaction from their house. It was raining when I got there so I got socked, especially while trying to get their keys from a neighbour.
They live in a one-bedroom apartment, so I had to go inside the room to change. I was really cold and was already wishing I had a man I could visit in Lagos when the unexpected happened.

Due to the rain my sister’s husband came in through a back door from the kitchen straight into the bedroom and I was completely nude; I couldn’t even bend down to pick my clothes.
I was just standing there motionless until he grabbed me and, yes, we did it.
We didn’t feel any guilt, just laughed about it and I prepared food. We both ate, slept together and had sex all night with each other. The sequence continued for the three days I spent in Lagos but after the first time we agreed he shouldn't release his sperm inside me.

Am now back to Enugu where I do my business, but unfortunately I am six weeks pregnant. No man friend, no boyfriend, no sex mate…. So who will I give this pregnancy to?
My sister’s marriage is less than a year and I just cant mention this to her husband.

The options I have thought of is either to kill myself or have an abortion. Is there any other way out of this mess I have gotten myself into?

Please I need HELP, and I need it fast! What should I do?

Pot Worse For You Than Alcohol? Are You High?

0 0
Read Time:4 Minute, 10 Second
Let’s start here: I smoke pot.

In fact, I’ve smoked pot for many years. I celebrated the night of my bar mitzvah by smoking pot. I smoked pot on my wedding day. And while I am not smoking pot right now that’s only because it’s 10 in the morning and I try to limit my pot intake to the evening hours.

I’ve never been a serious pothead. Even in my single-dude days, I could never manage more than a few times a week. And now, as a parent of what I must reluctantly term “a brood of children,” I probably smoke up once a week at most.

I hope none of this scans as controversial. I’m not trying to be controversial. Because at this point, I don’t think of pot as that controversial drug. The days of Reefer-Madness-style paranoia are pretty much put to bed. Most Americans either smoke pot or have in the past or have friends who do. Public opinion continues to tilt toward some form of regulated legalization. Marijuana is pretty much the gay marriage of drugs.

Am I suggesting that pot is no big deal? Not exactly. It is a drug. I get that. I don’t want my kids smoking it until they’re old enough to make responsible decisions. But in a country as doped up as ours, where anti-depressants and mood stabilizers are widely prescribed, I have trouble figuring out why a natural weed that mellows most folks out is that big a flipping deal.

It strikes me as a lot smaller deal than, for instance, smoking cigarettes, or binge eating bacon, or… drinking alcohol. Which brings me to the point of this particular rant.

Some weeks ago, a group called the Marijuana Policy Project aired an ad [below] at a NASCAR race that made the simple and irrefutable point that pot is less toxic than alcohol.

They based this conclusion on a study in the American Scientist which concluded, among other things, that marijuana is 100 times less toxic than alcohol. Meaning that if you down 20 drinks, you will probably die. And if you take 2000 hits of pot you will not die, though it is likely you will have trouble remembering where your car is, or what a car is.

The study did not go into detail about other possible definitions of toxicity, but since we’re on the topic: Based on figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 41,682 alcohol-related deaths were reported in 2010. Alcohol also causes more than a million trips to the emergency room each year, and plays some role in thousands of deadly auto accidents.

While I occasionally like to have a drink, I don’t think I’m being unreasonable in stating that most of the belligerence and poor behavior I’ve encountered in social settings is due to people being drunk. Getting high generally doesn’t make people want to fight. It makes them want to eat.

For whatever reason, the folks at PolitiFact decided to assess the ad’s claims. (Maybe there are closet potheads.) Anyway, they concluded that it was “mostly true.”

But in the course of doing so, they collected a quote from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, a division of the National Institutes of Health. “Claiming that marijuana is less toxic than alcohol cannot be substantiated since each possess their own unique set of risks and consequences for a given individual,” the institute wrote.

Does anyone else smell fudge?

I mean, come on.

The fact is that for years the government has been exaggerating the risks associated with pot, and downplaying the (by-now-pretty-darn-obvious) risks of alcohol. They have criminalized a relatively innocuous natural weed and allowed a fermented beverage that pickles people’s internal organs and common sense to become a vast and profitable industry, one whose ill effects are felt most acutely among our poorest citizens.

We can all agree that the abuse of any substance, legal or illegal, is a cause for concern. But it’s about time the various branches of the U.S. government took a big hit of common sense and caught up to public opinion.

We can all agree that the abuse of any substance, legal or illegal, is a cause for concern. But it’s about time the various branches of the U.S. government took a big hit of common sense and caught up to public opinion. That includes Barack “Hell Yes, I Inhaled” Obama, whose spokesman just announced that the administration has no plans to change the legal classification of marijuana, despite mounting evidence of its medicinal value.

Facts about composition of Cannabis

0 0
Read Time:2 Minute, 29 Second
The Indian hemp plant from which cannabis drugs  was grown more than 2,000 years ago.
According to report ,Cannabis contains over 400 different chemicals, the main ingredient which affects the mind is THC ( Which is one of 483 known compounds in the plant, including at least 84 other cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol CBD, cannabinol CBN, tetrahydrocannabivarin THCV and cannabigerol CBG ).
The amount of THC in the hemp plant determines the strength of the drug. The weather, soil and other factors determine the percentage of THC found in the plant. By using modern farming techniques, hemp growers have developed strains of cannabis which have  higher levels of THC than in the past.
THC levels averaged 1% in 1974 and 4% in 1994. In 2008, levels reached 9.6%, the highest ever since analysis of the drug began in the 1970s.
Following the excessive abuse of drugs by youths world wide, Saturday Vanguard sought the views of those involved in cannabis smoking otherwise known as Marijuana .

It help me concentrate well
People just condemn you because of what you do but as far as I’m concerned, Marijuana boost my sense of concentration .
Although , it’s derogatory to be seen by people smoking hemp, you cannot compare the advantages it has over stereotyping perception of people.
Sulaiman Oyekan ……Bricklayer
It gives me more energy at work
I am not ashamed of taking Indian hemp because my work requires more strength to perform effectively and taking hemp helps me to work extra hours. Although many people address you as a miscreant because you smoke or drink but as we speak , have I accused you in any negative way? Individuals are different,  so I take it because of my work and not for the fun of it .
Jimoh Adeshola……..Trader
To  me it’s medicinal
Cigar or hemp is not good for health but still one is better than the other.Hemp is medicinal because it’s a herb and sometimes people use it to cook . What is bad about it is that when you take it too much , it becomes bad habit. Even hemp helps someone to eat well. Any-time I smoke it, I eat very well . So I see nothing wrong in smoking cigar or hemp because it is also good for the body. It is when you take it too much that it becomes dangerous.
Yomi Makajola …….Student
Smoking keeps me company when I’m moody
Smoking hemp is something I cannot do without because I am now used to it. It’s now part of me because I have been smoking it for a long time . Smoking marijuana is not dangerous and it does not kill as such . Even our fathers in those days used to smoke when they were alive and none of them died as a result of smoking .

AMAZING!!! Newborn Calf Has 8 Legs, 4 Ears, 2 Bodies And One Head [PHOTOS]

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second
A cow in New Zealand has delivered a deformed calf who has two bodies, four ears, and eight legs on Monday. A veterinarian of dairy farm, Neil Davy, who delivered the stillborn calf , told the website NZ Farmer that if he hadn't been there, the mother cow would have surely died. "It was hard going," Davy told the website, "I was up to my elbows in lube and calf goo, sweat coming off my forehead. It's not nice to see a cow in distress." Wow, another genetically mutilated birth. Another picture after the break …

Davy told the site that he'd originally thought he was delivering twins. Close enough: identical twins come from one egg that divides, and veterinarian Jonathan Spencer told NZ Farmer that Davy's calf "[seems] like an incomplete divide of an egg." Other odd deformities have been known to occur in cattle. In 2012, a calf with an extra pair of legs was born in Switzerland. Although vets didn't initially think the six-legged cow had much chance of survival, the calf seemed to be doing just fine at two months old. In January 2011, a two-headed cow was born in Georgia. The farmer said that the animal ate with both heads.

Help! My husband sleeps with my maids

0 0
Read Time:4 Minute, 54 Second

As Alice drove to her friend’s place, she rehearsed what to tell her. How would she tell her friend that Mike, her husband, had impregnated Peace, her maid again? This was the third time she would be seeking her friend’s help in terminating the poor teenager’s pregnancy! She made up her mind that this would be the last.

But Mary, her friend, disagreed with her vehemently. “Alice, I cannot follow you to the clinic for another abortion. What if she loses her womb or her life in the process? I think it is high time something was done to your husband. He must stop sleeping with your maids,” she said.

Alice felt humiliated by her friend’s outburst. She sat on the chair and cried. Mike had always been a thorn in her flesh! For almost 12 years of marriage, she could not point at any good deed he had done in her life or the marriage. Her mind flashed back to the last discussion she had with him at home:

“You are always complaining that I have not done anything for you in this marriage. Don’t you have four beautiful children? How many of your mates have four boys in their marriages?”

“But Mike, I am not talking about the children, I am referring to the vices you have wrought in this marriage in the last 11 years. I am tired! You keep digressing to inanities when serious issues are discussed. So, how do you explain the pregnancy Peace is carrying?” Alice said accusingly.

“Pregnancy? Peace? Look here, woman, I don’t have a clue of what you are insinuating and I have told you I don’t want to have anything to do with either you or the stupid maids you bring to this house,” Mike said and left the house in anger. Things had always taken this pattern in their marriage!

She worked in a bank and had risen to a managerial level. From the first year of their marriage, Alice had always hired helps to mind the home, especially her children, who all came in quick succession.

She had lost count of the number of domestic helps her husband had slept with. Whether old or young, Mike was a randy man, who slept with her maids.

Ruth, the first child minder she hired after the birth of her firstborn, was a Ghanaian. Plump and pretty, the middle aged nanny was hired through a colleague. Ruth was a single mother and had come to Nigeria to fend for her four children. Initially, Alice never suspected any foul play between the woman and her husband. She was a very good nanny, who also helped with housekeeping and this saved Alice a lot of stress. Before she returned from work, there was food on the table and her baby would have been well taken care of.

Since her husband worked in the civil service, he arrived home first and she was happy that he helped supervise domestic staff especially the nanny. But after the birth of Godson, their second child, Ruth insisted on leaving! Alice begged that the nanny should wait and help nurture her baby because she was resuming work in less than a month. Ruth did not budge but said she wanted to go and stay with her children in Ghana.

When she resumed and lamented to her colleague who brought Ruth to her, she was shocked to learn that Ruth was not in Ghana but had rented an apartment in town. Alice got the address and traced the house where the nanny lived. She wanted to beg her to return to her home. It was a work day and she had closed early to check on nanny Ruth. Was she shocked when she met Mike there? He laid on the bed dressed in a pair of boxers! She didn’t utter a word but left. Obviously, Mike rented the apartment for the nanny so that they would have time for their escapade- her second baby would have posed a hindrance.

If he apologised over Ruth’s case, he never did on Uzo, the teenage girl she brought from the village. Suddenly, she observed the flat chest of the girl was sprouting! Though Uzo never got pregnant, the girl told Alice’s mother that ‘daddy is always sleeping with me when auntie goes to work.’

She managed to get a crèche where she put her children but when she was pregnant the third time, she could not help but get another maid. This time, she was a 14-year-old from her pastor. If Alice thought her husband would be scared of their pastor and not come near the girl, she was wrong! In fact, Susan, the maid, was the first teenager she took for an abortion! The girl agreed to terminate the pregnancy after her mother collected over N100, 000 from Alice. It was to seal the promise not to tell the pastor or anyone in the church!

That marked the beginning of series of abortions she had for over five girls. But her husband kept denying his action.

“I still believe Peace should keep this pregnancy and have the baby,” she heard Mary said as she jolted to reality.

“Why should I keep a pregnancy Mike has denied paternity? What if she had slept with someone else?” Alice said.

“Both of us know your husband is responsible. That girl was brought by my sister from Togo and I don’t know what to tell her if anything happens to her,” Mary said. For Alice, it seemed her world had come to an end.
