Do they think that killing Father Mbaka will make Jonathan win election ?

Enugu-based Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience, were planning to kill him over his criticism of the Federal Government and his opposition to the President’s re-election.

Mbaka, in a new video currently trending on YouTube, made the allegation during a sermon he delivered in his church. The congregation erupted in a howl when Mbaka said, “President Jonathan and his wife are planning to kill me.”

The Roman Catholic Priest, whose recent comments on the general elections generated ripples, said the plan to assassinate him showed that the President no longer had the fear of God. According to the video, Mbaka said that, “Although I sent a letter about this somewhere but I want to say this to the atmosphere. Let me say to the whole world that President Jonathan and his wife, Patience, are planning to assassinate Father Mbaka.

It is a known secret, so whoever they want to use, I don’t know. They may not come themselves. They may use these unemployed people. The same people I am speaking for. I don’t know why people no longer have the fear of God.

“Do they think that killing Father Mbaka will make Jonathan and his wife win the election? Is Mbaka their problem? And a priest asked a question that touched me. He said all this while that Father Mbaka has been supporting Jonathan and his wife, did Buhari and his party make any statement to threatened him?”

Mbaka maintained that his criticism of the Jonathan administration was a divine mandate, while making allusion to the bible story of when God sent Moses to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go.

He compared his New Year message against President Jonathan to Moses’ message to the Egyptian King, Pharaoh.
He said in the video, “I am just trying to tell any Pharaoh that is threatening to kill any Moses to remember what happened in Exodus chapter 12. After the Passover, the family of Pharaoh cried. They ended in the middle of the Red Sea.”

The Catholic priest said despite the threats, he would continue to discharge his duties without fear of anyone. Mbaka also denied that Patience Jonathan gave him any money when she visited his church.

He said although President Jonathan dropped money for him through Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, he left the money with Ekweremadu and his wife.

He also said that Patience Jonathan’s offering to the church was also rejected. Mbaka launched a scathing criticism of President Jonathan last year when he gave a sermon condemning his re-election.

‘First lady is a comedian,’ Ekiti APC says

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 33 Second

The Ekiti State Branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described First lady, Patience Jonathan as a comedian.

The Ekiti APC also said that Mrs Jonathan and the State Governor, Ayo Fayose only entertained their supporters during a March 16 rally in the state.

The party made the comments via a statement released on Tuesday, March 17, by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatubosun.

The statement reads:

“Throughout her speech, she manifested an image of a village masquerade providing a momentary comic relief to a poverty ravaged community not in a hurry for socio-economic salvation.”

“You would have thought that the First Lady would list her husband’s achievements in Ekiti State and then give the people some hope that her husband would build upon those achievements.”

“But she engaged in a duet with her host and soul mate, Governor Ayo Fayose, in an empty campaign comedy to a thoroughly dazed enlightened Ekiti people. It was a perfect duet by two comedians that one does not need any counsel‎ that Nigeria must be rescued from the captivity of the costumed ‘people of power’ without responsibility.”

“She was consistently painting Buhari as a man that would herd Nigerians into jail without committing any crime whereas Buhari only insisted that criminals during his coming administration would go to jail. She said she was not ready to prepare food for Fayose in jail‎. Inadvertently, Mrs. Jonathan was telling Nigerians ‎that Fayose is a candidate for the prison if Buhari wins.”

“Mrs. Jonathan only came to Ekiti to entertain in a political theatre full of deceits and false props constructed by Fayose for maximum personal profits.

The First Lady also described the APC as poison during the rally and urged her supporters not to vote for the party.

5 important things ex-President said in Dubai

0 0
Read Time:55 Second

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Sunday March 15, attended the Global Education and Skills Forum in Dubai.

Obasanjo was interviewed during the event by International Business Times UK and he spoke on Boko Haram and the abducted Chibok girls.

Here are five important things he said during the interview:

Boko Haram has become a regional issue and we have to deal with it regionally.

    Boko Haram has legitimate grievances

The response of the government initially was definitely not enough. When Boko Haram started showing their fangs about four years ago the reaction should have been firm and unmistakable. We have lost ground.

If Boko Haram is ready to talk, [we should talk]. But by the time they are ready to talk they will need to be pounded a little bit militarily: at that stage they will be ready to talk

The government did not believe that there had been an abduction for some time. If that had happened maybe the girls [Chibok girls] would have been rescued.

If Re-elected Jonathan will ensure better days for Civil Servants—Gbenga Daniel

Read Time:2 Minute, 0 Second

Former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has promised the people of the state, especially the civil servants better days ahead when the Peoples Democratic Party presidential and governorship candidate are elected into office in this year’s election.

The former Governor disclosed this during the nationwide campaign for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP organised by the Women for Change project of the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan on Tuesday.

Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, PDP Ogun Governorship Candidate, Gboyega Isiaka, Wife of the V.P, Hajia Aminat Sambo, addressing PDP supporters during a rally organised by Women for Change in the state.

Speaking at the event, the former Governor reiterated the commitment of the party in ensuring women inclusive government, while berating the Governor Ibikunle Amosun administration for its lackadaisical attitude towards the welfare of the civil servants and the people of Ogun state in general.

‘When we were in government, we saw the need to provide low-cost housing for civil servants in Ogun State and we did that through the Laderin workers estate which we gave to civil servants at nine hundred thousand naira each but this administration in its attempt to hoodwink the people constructed its worker’s estate and awarded it to civil servants at a whooping twenty five million naira each. How can the civil servants who have been denied their basic entitlements and welfare and salries afford the deposit for this property not to talk of paying twenty five million naira for a low-cost house”

Speaking on the demolition of properties, Gbenga Daniel stated that the PDP government will ensure that it rebuild all properties destroyed by the present administration once it gets into power.
The first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan who was represented by the wife of the vice-President, Hajia Aminat Nnamadi Sambo, thanked the people for their continuous support for the President and the party, assuring that women will forever be well represented in the Goodluck/Sambo led government.

The event was attended by the PDP Governorship candidate in the state, Prince Gboyega Isiaka, the state party chairman Bayo Dayo, former Deputy Governor, Alhaja Salimot Badru, among numerous others.

Don’t rig us out of power with card readers, PDP warns Jega

0 0
Read Time:2 Minute, 7 Second

ASABA—LEADERSHIP of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the South-South region, yesterday, warned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC not to use the card reader to rig the party out of power in the March 28 presidential election.

Handing down the warning during the South-South zonal executive meeting of the party, in Asaba, Delta State Chairman of PDP in the zone, Dr Cairo Ojuogbo, said the zone was against the decision of INEC to make its Chairman, Prof. Attaihiru Jega, the sole appointee of collation officers across states in the federation for the March 28 presidential and National Assembly elections.

Ojuogbo, however, said the PDP in the region was not against the card reader, but that it should not be used to disenfranchise eligible voters, stressing that anybody with the Permanent Voters Card, PVC, should also be allowed to vote. On whether the card reader would be used for the election or not, he said the issue was being handled by the party at the national level. On the appointment of collation officers, he alleged that Prof. Jega had already directed one of his aides who is a card carrying member of the APC to nominate those to be appointed as collation officers for the elections.

According to him, INEC has a chairman and 12 commissioners with two being appointed from each of the zones in the country, adding that the commissioners from the zones should be allowed to appoint collation officers in their areas and not only the chairman solely making the appointments. Speaking further, Ojougbo said the South-South region would give bloc votes to President Goodluck Jonathan, insisting that the party has worked very hard to earn the votes of the people.

He commended party faithful for their commitment to the reelection of Dr Jonathan and expressed optimism that their efforts would yield positive results.Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Steve Oru, who also spoke during the meeting, assured that the people of the South South would vote enmasse for the PDP. Chairman of the party in the Delta Central, Chief Tom Amioku who spoke in the same vein enjoined the party leadership not to be disturbed by the rumours that the Urhobo would not vote for the PDP.

The PDP governorship flagbearer in Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, said he was confident of victory for PDP in all the elections, adding that the party was not scared of loosing any of the elections because it was working hard to secure the people’s votes.

7 amusing things First Lady said during Ekiti rally

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 4 Second

Nigeria’s First Lady, Patience Jonathan, on Monday, March 16, attended a rally in Ekiti State.

The attendees at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women’s rally were treated to some of the First Lady’s interesting anecdotes.

Here are seven amusing things Mrs Jonathan said during the rally:

What did they (Muhammadu Buhari/APC) forget in Aso Rock?

If you vote the PDP and Jonathan, it would be better for you. If you vote the APC, you will go to prison.

How can you jail somebody for 300 years? I’m not ready to carry food to my husband inside prison oh!

They said there is no Office of the First Lady. Already, we know that there is no Office of the First Lady but there is wife of the President.

If you drink APC, you will die.

Nigerian women shine your eyes, don’t go for analogue, go for digital. PDP is digital, APC is analogue.

Nigerian women shine your eyes o! Vote with what you have seen, who you already know and who has performed. If anyone is telling you change, they are deceiving you.
