The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Mohammed Mumuni has confirmed an attack on Ghana’s ambassador to Guinea, H. E. Dominic Aboagye, by some unprovoked armed men in Conakry, the capital of Guinea.

Disclosing this on Peace FM ‘Kokrokoo’ morning show, the minister stated that the Ghana Government has taken a serious view of the incident and has protested against it, to ensure the safety and security of Ghana’s diplomatic personnel in Guinea and has demanded full explanation of the attack through Guinea’s Ambassador to Ghana.

Giving details of the incident, Hon. Mumuni said the attackers rammed the ambassador’s 4×4 vehicle from behind and when he stopped to inspect the damage, they forcibly bundled him into his vehicle and drove to a remote location where they robbed him of his possessions and absconded with the vehicle. According to him, the attackers were in military uniform.  He revealed however that the Ambassador was not hurt, and the Guinean Police Personnel have been able to retrieve the vehicle.
