Former Military Head of State and three time Presidential candidate, Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) has predicted victory for opposition parties that formed  the yet to be registered   All Progressive Change (APC) in the 2015 Presidential election.

Buhari who spoke  at a conference of opposition parties which held yesterday in Kagoro, Kaduna state, said he was confident that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would be kicked out of power now that Nigerians, having experience insecurity and bad leadership are yearning for change.
The event also featured the formal unveiling of APC in the Southern part of Kaduna state with the theme, “A Decade of Democracy: A region at Cross road.

Buhari noted that the problems facing the Southern Kaduna people are the same problems  facing  many other communities in the north, stressing that the problems were caused by poor leadership.

“ Since 2007 I told many people that the only way we can defeat and kick the PDP out of government at all levels is by coming together under one platform.

“With what is happening in Southern Kaduna today, I want everyone that is here to go back to his state and constituency and sensitise the people so that together, we can deliver Nigerians from the hands of misrules,” Buhari said. Speaking further while unveiling the APC emblem,  Buhari said, “We are going to win in 2015. We have confidence that we will win.

“How much our states earned from 1999 to date and what is the level of development and infrastructure?  The railway, industries and so many companies have all gone because of outright theft in the system. So, between now and 2015, we have great job to do and by God’s grace,  we shall make it.”

Also speaking at the occasion, the Nasarawa state governor,Alhaji  Umaru Tanko Almakura, urged the people of Southern Kaduna and the state as a whole to take a leave from what happened in his state in 2011 if there must be change.

According to him, the Southern part of Kaduna had been the backbone of the PDP in Kaduna state, pointing out that with the acceptance of the APC by the southern  people, the APC will take over Kaduna state in 2015.

According the governor,  “there had been decay in the system and it is  now time for all of us to come together and seize power from the PDP. We have to denounce our unfruitful support to a party that have left us undeveloped.

“  It’s time for us to believe that we have leaders we can trust. APC does  not discriminate against anybody on the basis of tribe and religion and we believed that with APC Nigeria will regain its status. Kaduna must learn from what happened in Nasarawa state in 2011,” Almakura said.

In a message delivered on his behalf,  former governor of Lagos state Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu noted that the Kagoro conference was the first of its kind in the history of the APC which signifies that the APC will take over Kaduna state come 2015. Tinubu who was represented at the occasion by former Minister of Labour, Alhaji Musa Gwadebe, urged the people of Southern Kaduna to support the APC come 2015 so as to effect change that will propel the development of the country.

The occasion was attended by many chieftains of the APC including the former FCT minister, Mallam Nasir El-rufai among others
