Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari who was billed to address other African Leaders at the ongoing African Union Summit in South Africa failed to show up to give his address.

In a press statement signed by the President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina and made available to the press on Friday the Presidency announced that the President will be attending the summit in South Africa to discuss the unity and development of the continent. However, the President was conspicuously missing from the summit.

The proceedings monitored by LEAK TIMES on the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Network shows that the President address was read on his behalf by a representative.

In the welcome address President Buhari stated that ”Nigeria will support acceleration of Nepad programs, including work on the trans Sahara highway”

LEAK TIMES recalls that former President Jonathan came under massive public condemnation in 2013 when he failed to deliver his inaugural address at the 50th AU summit in Addis Ababa.
