The Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, has said there are moves by some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers state who defected to other parties to return to the PDP.
He however warned that they cannot do so through the back door but must follow the due process in returning to the PDP.

Wike gave the warning yesterday at Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of Rivers State, during a thanksgiving service to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Chief Felix Obuah-led executive committee of the PDP in the state.
He said; “The APC members are interested in what is happening in PDP in this state. They all want to come back to the PDP but let me warn them; they must follow the proper way or we will throw them out through the window.”

Wike said the party was aware of moles planted by the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, in the PDP. He said the moles were the ones causing disaffection in the party, adding that at the appropriate time they would be exposed.

In response to pleas that he should run for the office of governor of the state, Wike said it was too early for anyone to claim to run for any office in the state. He said at the right time, members of the party in the state would decide who should go for any office.

“For now, we should concentrate in building our party, the PDP. It is not time for any war canoe house or ‘obiri’ to say it is their turn. All those claiming to be technocrats and that they have connections should come out to work for the party. At the appropriate time, party members will decide who will represent them,” he stated.
