The Secretary of the factional  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) known as New PDP  in Adamawa State, Mr. P. P. Elisha, has urged the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, to apologise to the people of the state over the political crisis in the state, which has affected the overall development of the state.

Elisha, while speaking journalists yesterday in Yola, accused Tukur of using his influence and closeness to President Goodluck Jonathan to inflict untold hardship on residents-in the state simply because of their refusal to support his bids to impose his biological son as the next governor of the state in the forthcoming 2015 governorship poll.

Elisha, who is loyal to the state Governor, Murtala Nyako, said the political battle was unnecessary as he had advised Tukur to make peace with Nyako, who has overwhelming support from the political stakeholders in the state.
He explained that the national chairman of the PDP had allegedly connived with some Abuja elements to ensure that the federal government denied the state’s N5 billion as fund used to execute federal government projects in the state because of his political difference with Nyako.

According to him, Tukur does the opposite of what he preaches, adding that the national chairman should  be question on why he illegally dissolved the party’s executive in the state and refused to approve the decision of the 10-member National Working Committee (NWC) that reinstated them.

“Jonathan did not give us money before we voted him in as president and it will not be fair of him to rob us our right because of individual ambition,” Elisha stated.
In the same vein, the state Commissioner for Rural Road and Electrification in Malam Aminu Iyawa, has advised the president to give Nyako a listening ear because he has a lot to offer the nation.

He argued that Nyako had limited resources to execute meaningful project in the state stressing that some few personalities from the state have been misleading the president to frustrate Nyako
administration in the state.

Iyawa also called on the president to give a second thought to the demands of the seven aggrieved governors of the party, stressing that the governors have genuine point.

According to him, he said there no need for wrangling, saying if Jonathan want to re-contest the election, the supreme court would construe the position of the constitution there was no cause for
alarm.

“As far as I am concerned, Jonathan is in office for his second term because he contested in a Joint ticket with late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and there is no judge in the country that will give it a wrong interpretation,” he stated.

He maintained that if Jonathan has been a good president the electorate would over look his shortcoming and allow him to go for his third term “some people may be drawing a war drum that if Jonathan did not contest the country will break, I tell you  that is mere threat.”

Iyawa further alleged that the state had been marginalised by the federal government, stating that no single federal project had been executed in the state for the last eight years, despite the fact that the
national chairman of PDP, Chief of Air Staff and the political adviser to the president were all from the state.

“Jonathan is been deceive that he can contest am assuring you that Supreme Court will not be brought over as the verdict they will passed will be against him,” he said.
