Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan has urged Nigerians to purge themselves of all impeding factors to the progress of Nigeria as a nation. In a goodwill message to mark this year’s Easter celebrations, Uduaghan said that Nigerians need to drop every hindrance to peace and unity of the country by manifesting love to one another and to their father land.
“No time is better than now to purge ourselves of those burdens that have impeded our progress as a people over the years by demonstrating love in its fullness not only to one another but also to our society”, he stated.
According to him, Easter offers ample opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on renewal and sacrifice, a time to look at old challenges in new ways as well as a time to strengthen their faith in God through His son, Jesus Christ.
“The lessons of peace, love, selflessness and sacrifice for the common good must be imbibed by all Nigerians for national progress. I wish to task Christian and Muslim leaders to preach harmony, peace and co-existence for the good of all”, he added.
Uduaghan appealed to all Deltans, and all Nigerians to continue to live together in peaceful, harmony and to eschew bitterness, divisiveness and intolerance which he said they should replace with mutual understanding, love and respect.
“Our common progress lies in peaceful existence anchored on friendship and good neighbourliness”, he stressed.
He restated his administration’s commitment to making life better for all citizens and residents of Delta State, expressing confidence that on-going projects would be completed before the end of his administration.
