Injured Ghana midfielder Edwin Gyimah is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks which means he will fit to play for the Black Stars at the World Cup in June if he is selected by coach Kwesi Appiah.

The South Afirca-based utility player, who plays for SuperSport United, will be on the sidelines with a badly twisted ankle.

He is expected to return to action by the middle of March, two months before the World Cup starts in Brazil.

“Gyimah is definitely out of the game against AmaZulu (on Tuesday) due to the injury sustained against Pirates,” revealed United team manager Coltrane Munyai.

“He should be out for four to six weeks.”
It was originally feared that he would be out of action for six months which means he would not be fit to play in the tournament which ends in July.

The Ghanaian sustained the blow in  Matsatsantsa's recent 2-1 victory over Orlando Pirates in Soweto http://www.kickoff.com/match-report/9496/orlando-pirates-vs-supersport-united-psl .

His return will give coach Appiah lots of options and headache when he names his squad for the World Cup.

Gyimah is on the periphery of the Black Stars squad.
