LAGOSâ€â€Ndigbo in Lagos State, weekend, celebrated their annual New Yam Festival at Obi Ndigbo in Lagos.
In his address on the occasion, the Eze Igbo of Lagos State, Eze Nwabueze Ohazulike, said the new yam festival had remained one of the strongest vehicles for the preservation of Igbo cultural identity in the country and in the diaspora.
Eze Ohazulike expressed the gratitude of Ndigbo to the Lagos State Government and leaders of the various Igbo socio-cultural organizations in the state.
The festival was attended by prominent Igbo sons and daughters in Lagos and from all over the federation. People from other ethnic groups were also there to celebrate with their Igbo friends.
