nigeria-bulldozer-crushesBauchi – A middle-aged man and father of three, Idris Abdullahi, was, yesterday, in Miri, crushed to death by a bulldozer as he was excavating sand close to the tractor to mould bricks for his house. The incident threw residents of Miri, a suburb of Bauchi, the state capital, into mourning.

His wife, Hamma, 21, wept profusely.

However, his three children Musa, Amina, and Fauzia aged between 18 months and four years, were oblivious of what had befallen their father as they just held their mother and watched as she wept.

Investigations by Vanguard revealed that the deceased and his friend, Nuhu, were digging when the earth caved in and the bulldozer fell on him, burying him in the hole they dug. Nuhu was said to be unhurt.

According to sources, the bulldozer had no strong wedge under it, hence it suddenly rolled and fell on the deceased inside the hole, killing him instantly.

It took over three hours for the machine to be fork-lifted from the lifeless body of Idris, which was later buried according to Islamic rites.

Efforts to reach Idris’ partner, Nuhu to speak on the incident did not yield results.

The aged father of the deceased, Pa Abdullahi described the death of his son as an act of God. He said Idris was destined to die the way he did, adding that whatever God had destined for one would come to pass.
