Emmanuel Bishop Amakiri, proprietor of the Amakson Soccer Academy based in Abuja, has averred that he set up the outfit not as an instrument to exploit the youth but in pursuant of his dream to produce talents who will replicate the soccer artistry of former national football stars like Emmanuel Amunike, Dan Amokachi, Finidi George, Jay Jay Okocha, among others.

“I’ll be a fulfilled man if all the young boys in Amakson Soccer Academy end up getting juicy contracts overseas. I would even be happier if most of them replicate the artistry displayed by former national stars like Emmanuel Amunike, Dan Amokachie, Finidi George, Jay Jay Okocha etal.

“We need to bring back those glorious days of our football when other countries were scared of been paired with us on the field of play. I have a feeling that with the way things are going, the boys in this academy (Amakson Soccer Academy) will take Nigeria to the next level in no distant future,” he stated.

He affirmed that he decided to engage the boys in the game of football at their young age to keep them busy “as an idle mind is the devil’s workshop.”

Amakiri disclosed that it was this philosophy of keeping the youngsters busy that informed his decision not to collect any kind of fees from them “unlike what obtains in some other academies.”
