AS Nigerians await the release of names of players to battle Kenya in a World Cup qualifier later this month in Calabar, Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi  has given an indication he may include AC Milan’s player, Nnamdi Oduamadi in his plans.

The 22-year-old currently on loan at Serie B club, AS Varese 1910 has impressed Nigerian football fans with big performances in the few games he had played at age grade level for the national team.
(Nnamdi) Oduamadi is in my plans. He is a very intelligent and tricky player and I like him a lot,” Keshi told

Keshi has however, refrained from making any definite comments on Oduamadi getting an invitation to the squad to face the Harambee Stars.

“Will Oduamadi make the list? Well, I will only say Nigerians should be patient till the list is made public in the next few days,” he said.

Meanwhile, manager of three-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Dolphins, Stanley Eguma has voiced his sentiments on Keshi’s decision to re-introduce Oduamadi back to the national set up.

“This is a very smart move by Keshi. Oduamadi played under me while I was the chief coach at the national under 23 team and I can tell you that his pace, commitment and intelligence will only make the Super Eagles a much stronger side. He always gives a hundred percent in every game and is the perfect professional,” Eguma said.

Oduamadi never played professionally in Nigeria as he spent ten seasons at the popular Pepsi football academy before joining Milan in 2010.

The Rossoneri promptly loaned him out to Genoa and subsequently, Torino.

Oduamadi has represented Nigeria at under17, 20 and 23 levels and has been capped once at senior level.
