After watching the Eagles play out a goalless draw with Mexico in an international friendly played Thursday morning in America, Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi has been reflecting on the exciting encounter, conceding however, that the north Americans gave his team a good test.
Keshi said, “ “We didn’t really play our style because we’ve been out for about four or five months … with different teams … different styles. That’s why I’m glad we played a team like Mexico (that keeps the ball on the ground).â€
His Mexican counterpart, Miguel Herrera also blamed the short time for camping before the match made things difficult for the team to blend. “We have to be more together.
“With one day of work, it’s very difficult. … We were not able to generate a lot of opportunities. There just wasn’t time to prepare. Too many players were in Europe, and they like to play a certain way.†He said the team that played against the Eagles is not Mexico’s final squad for the World Cup.
