Taiwo Ogunjobi has dismissed the ban slapped on him by the NFF.

Embattled former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation,  Taiwo Ogunjobi has dismissed the ban slapped on him by the NFF.

Ogunjobi has been embroiled in a controversy involving a contract which the NFF has described as a “slave contract”, which he allegedly forced Nigerian junior international Olarenwaju Kayode to sign.

The contract appears to have been set up to unduly enrich the former Secretary General, and due to his “unsavoury” behaviour he has been suspended by the NFF from all footballing activities for no less than 10 years.

But the outspoken Ogunjobi has come out swinging in response to the allegations and the lengthy ban he could be subject to.

“The truth is I am just hearing this from you,” he told SuperSport. “No one from the NFF has informed me about any ban. When they officially communicate with me, I will say more.”

He added: “The NFF has no case and they know it. If they do, let them prove their allegations.”

Despite his insistent protests it seems unlikely that he will beat the ban, given that Barrister Chris Green, the NFF’s technical committee chairman, has stated that the NFF was compelled to take stern action.
