Nigeria: Samsung powers up again with Galaxy Star

Korean smartphone maker, Samsung Electronics has recently introduced Galaxy Star Smartphone, an affordable product targeted at the younger generation of mobile phone users

The dual SIM device which is already available at Samsung stores and accredited dealers nationwide has exceptional performance, powered by an A5 1GHz processor and the latest Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system. It also features a three-inch touch screen, 2-megapixel camera, 512 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory.

Additionally, the product incorporates intuitive motion and smart multimedia features for easy control and flow.

The product’s powerful CPU provides speedy computing power, and with fast connectivity wi-fi access and BT 4.0, it enables users do quick downloads of apps and easy content sharing. It also comes with rich apps and content such as Samsung apps, Google play store, YouTube, among others.

Meanwhile, Samsung as part of its youth empowerment with the product has already flagged off a campaign that will take 10 lucky winners who buy the product on a four-day all-expense paid trip to Dubai.

Director of Hand Held Products at Samsung Electronics West Africa, Mr. Emmanouil Revmatas had earlier said that  the company would continue to display its commitment to provide mobile phones that suit the unique needs and resources of individuals in Nigeria and indeed, the whole of Africa.

“Mobile handsets are rapidly becoming the centre of our lives, even as more and more users desire access to content and enjoy more features and activities such as gaming, video and music anytime, anywhere, via their devices,” said Revmatas, adding that, “individuals interested in participating in the initiative are required to shoot a video using the Galaxy Star smartphone and upload same on Samsung’s website between June 3 and July 7, 2013. Twenty winning videos will be shortlisted via public voting after which 10 finalists will be selected for the trip to Dubai.”
