The alleged arms supplier was nabbed following investigations by security agencies into the incident.
An Oborotu community leader, Chief Evans Egbesekumor, confirmed to us, yesterday, that security agents had arrested the owner of the guns.
Egbesekumor, who was reacting to the interview granted the media by one Chief Johnbull Febakumor, that he was attacked by Ofougbene youths for standing witness against Oborotu community in a land dispute, said that Febakumor was the one fomenting trouble.
He said: “After all attempts to persuade Orugbene people to return the seized items failed, the affected persons reported the matter to the Police and Joint Task Force, JTF, in Burutu and they got him and the owner of the guns, arrested.
“As I speak to you, the arrested boat and the owner of the guns are still in the custody of the police in Asaba. Febakumor was instructed by JTF to return the items seized by Orugbene youths, rather than do that, he has gone to give false report to the media, bringing in Ofougbene into a matter he had no hands in.”
