ABU DHABI: Two Liaison Officers Appointed between MoI and NYPD

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – The Ministry of Interior and New York Police Department have appointed Liaison Officers in order to reinforce mutual cooperation and coordination, carry out benchmarking duties, and exchange information and expertise.
Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, said that exchanging Liaison Officers between the UAE Police and its international counterparts such as New York Police Department is a good opportunity to enhance mutual cooperation in Police work, and will include mutual development and training operations, to increase police efficiency between both parties.

Lt. General Al Sha’far noted that the NYPD is one of the most respected professional Police institutions, with a prestigious track record in executing police tasks. He also reiterated the Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters’ keenness to avail of international police expertise, exchange its own experiences and implement the latest modern technology means to enhance the work and services of the UAE Police.

He added that the UAE Police have contributed to enhancing the country’s international competitiveness by preserving the gains of security and safety. He also referred to the UAE police’s distinguished journey of accomplishments and strategic initiatives and plans, all of which are consistent with the UAE Government’s vision, to enhance the quality of services, combat crime, achieve smart transformation, and increase the public’s confidence in the provided services.
In conclusion, Lt. General Al Sha’far pointed out to the good reputation of the UAE Police and its distinguished presence on global forums amid international acknowledgment. “The landmark achievements made by the UAE police institution have earned it a leading position among its counterparts and consolidated its international stature. This has been achieved by expanding cooperation relations with its counterparts worldwide; through its civilized handling of international events, its constant presence at the forefront efforts to handle international crisis, and through the honorable image significantly felt by all people who traveled to the UAE either to live, visit, or work,” he concluded.
