Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon Ovwigho Igbuya has described the former commissioner of housing in the state, Chief Paulinus Akpeki as a curse to the state, particularly Sapele Local Government, adding that his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as good riddance to bad rubbish.

A statement in Asaba signed by Henry Ebireri, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker challenged Akpeki to point to one bore-hole that he influenced to Sapele, a local government where he is claiming to be the leader.

Igbuya who also described the former PDP chieftain as a political prostitute, foreigner and a highly irresponsible person said he was behind his appointment as member of the Railway Board.

“At the inception of the current democratic dispensation, Akpeki was a member of the All Peoples Party (APP). I was the driving force to him being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party. I also recommended him for Board appointment at the federal level. Nothing was achieved in that appointment. In 2003, Akpeki became chairman of Waste Management Board. He is the worst person imaginable in the entire human population. He is the worst chairman in the history of the board. Refuse were not collected from Sapele. He was sacked and replaced by Hon. Austin Ogbaburhon Okpoviekpurai.”

The speaker, who took time to correct the half-truths and dangerous insinuations contained in Akpeki’s recent interview, accused him of feeding the public with cooked and calculated lies.

“Akpeki was rejected by his community but former governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan gave him succor by appointing him as commissioner of housing in 2007. As commissioner, he supervised the sales of government properties within and outside the state and collected his share. He also went after lands of political associates, saying Uduaghan is the owner of the land.”

He dismissed the view of Akpeki on the Sapele Market project. “We have a plaque showing the Sapele Stadium was commissioned by Uduaghan. Chief Akpeki is castigating his master for commissioning uncompleted project. The stadium and market were not awarded by his administration. They were also not completed by his administration. I was council chairman when Chief James Ibori awarded the market project. It was inherited by Dr. Uduaghan who was unable to complete it. Akpeki cannot point to anything he did in Sapele, not even a ring well.”

Igbuya also eulogized Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for being above board in the discharge of his duties

“Okowa wants to make Delta State stable and prosperous. He is moving with great zeal and vigour to make the difference. We are proud of him. We are happy with what he is doing.”

He urged Deltans irrespective of tribe, religion or political difference to give full support to Okowa to enable him complete his tenure smoothly and successfully.

Igbuya while describing the immediate past Chief of Staff to the Delta State governor as a fool said, “I am not a fool like the former commissioner who used his company to secure the Elume Ugboren road contract. Fifty percent was released to him. He squandered the money and nothing was done.  I accept whole heartedly that Moovig is my company where I have interest before entering government.”

However, it is not the contractor of Sapele Stadium or Market. I am not the owner of Stabilini Visinoni or Primi Construction Company. I am not a director in any of these companies “I have developed sapele much more than Akpeki. Let him show the world what he has done. He has nothing to offer the people. The very best he could do was to appoint married and unmarried women with big ass from across the Niger as personal assistants and special assistants. He should tell the worlds who were his personal and special assistant while in government.”
