I’ll correct Nigeria’s 16 years misrule –Buhari

buhari The Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on Friday promised to correct the alleged misrule of Nigeria.

He stated that the Peoples Democratic Party had misgoverned the country for about 16 years, adding that the APC was committed to ensuring that it addressed the developmental challenges of the nation.

Speaking in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital on Friday during the APC’s presidential campaign, Buhari promised to put an end to insecurity and frontally fight corruption.

He urged the electorate in the state to vote for APC, saying the party had resolved to govern the nation with a sense of accountability, transparency and probity.Buhari also promised that if he becomes President, he would resuscitate the Ajaokuta steel manufacturing complex such that it would create massive jobs for the teaming unemployed youths in Nigeria.

He appealed to the electorate that have not collected their Permanent Voters Card to collect them to be able to vote for all the candidates of APC in the forthcoming general elections.Buhari said, “We don’t have any other country than Nigeria, I assure you that if given the mandate, I will change the country for better. We will ensure that there is maximum security of lives and property.

“APC is the only party that can guarantee the security of the nation effectively. Youth employment, and health would be our priority. We would empower financial institution to be able to give loans to individuals and organisations so as to be able to create employment. We would invest in education and security.“We will invest vigorously on education, agriculture and we will resuscitate the ailing Ajaokuta steel Company.”Buhari’s running mate, Prof. Yemi Osibajo, appealed to voters to exercise patience after voting and ensure that their votes are counted before leaving the polling units.

He described Buhari as a man of honour and integrity.He stated that Buhari had not been found wanting in any public position he occupied before and after his retirement from the Nigerian Army.APC Chairman, Mr. John Odigie-Oyegun, also called on Nigerians to guard their votes jealously. He stated that Nigeria would be liberated from its numerous problems if Buhari got to power.The Kogi State APC Chairman, Mr. Haddy Ametuo criticised the Kogi State Government for obtaining bonds without allegedly justifying the loan.
