Gunman reported at San Jose State building

San Jose State University ordered students and staff to shelter in place in Sweeney Hall Thursday morning while police search the building in response to a report of a man with a gun, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
University spokeswoman Pat Harris says the lockdown was ordered after a"credible" report indicated that a white male wearing all-black clothing — and possibly armed with a handgun — was seen near Sweeney Hall, NBC Bay Area reports.
The TV station quotes one student, identified as Jonathan Aguayo, as saying he saw the person, and that it appeared he was carrying a rifle.
The hall houses the College of Education, the Mercury News reports. Students and staff were ordered to remain in place and lock all doors.
San Jose State University is located in San Jose, Calif.
