Sometimes it takes courage to go that extra mile for something you love. But Sandra Okon Bassey decided to do just that.
About a year ago, this beautiful damsel hit the runaway industry in a spectacular way when she emerged the winner of the prestigious Miss Niger Delta pageant to set a new record for herself.
But interestingly, modelling is not the only good thing Sandra is known for. She is also an actress of great repute, and a student in her own right. In fact, she had to combine her studies with her passion to become a role model for young women, a win she dedicated to her fans and family.

As Miss Niger Delta(Symbol of Talent), Sandra, who hails from Akwa- Ibom State, described her reign as one characterised by “the good, the bad and the ugly,” adding, “It was also stressful sometimes.”
While her reign lasted, Sandra touched so many lives through her pet projects such as ‘Catch them Young’, a talent hunt show as well as her community-based project which was targeted at the widows and the less-privileged children in the Niger Delta region.
“Apart from the love I have for modelling, the other reason I ventured into the industry was to have a good platform to launch my acting career. I’m quite new in the industry but so far, it’s been fun all the way. I did my first movie sometime late last year, an indigenous movie which is meant for the international audience,” Sandra stressed.
Besides being a student of the University of Calabar, where she’s studying Education Biology, the ex-beauty queen is also a Computer Science student of Cross River State University of Science and Technology. Sandra says she has an undying desire to hit the hall of fame before her graduation from the university.
