The fate of a missing 10-year-old pupil of Command Day Secondary School, Ilese, Ogun State, Victoria Ibijoju, has remained uncertain after she mysteriously went missing.
Punch Metro learnt that while the school management launched a search for the JSS 1 pupil, they came across a pile of bones in her school uniform two weeks later.

Her school bag, foot wares and books were said to have been found beside the bones in a bush around the school compound.

But the victim’s father, Mr. Christopher Ibijoju, insisted that the bones were not that of his daughter.

Christopher, an IT engineer, told PUNCH Metro that it was impossible that within two weeks that his daughter went missing, she would have decomposed to the level that no flesh could be found.

He added that despite the heavy rain that fell in the area during the period, the bones he saw were very dry and disjointed.

Our correspondent learnt that the victim, who stayed with guardians, Mr. and Mrs. Emuyibo, had gone missing on June 23, 2014, after she did not return home from school.

Her father, who lives in the Ogijo area of the state, said he got a call from Mrs. Esther Emuyibo, on Tuesday that his daughter did not come home on Monday.

He said,
“My daughter stayed with the Emuyibos and I usually send them money for her feeding and upkeep. She was formerly staying with a teacher in the school, who found another job and asked us to keep her with them.
“We never had any problem with them. On Tuesday, June 24, 2014, Mrs. Emuyibo called me that my girl had yet to return from school.”

He said he went to the school the following day, where it was also confirmed by the school authorities.

The management of the school, the parents and guardians were said to have organised a search party to look around the school. They reportedly did not see her throughout that week.

“The first Monday in July, the school administrative officer called me on the phone and said I should come over to the school because he had seen something very terrible. He did not disclose what it was on the phone.
“When I got to the school, they told me my daughter had died. They took me to a place where we saw a pack of bones in her uniform. Although her school bag, books and shoes were there, I told them it couldn’t have been my daughter,” he added.
Our correspondent learnt that it was at that point that the school management disclosed that the victim had followed her friend, who lived in the barracks, to her home on the fateful Monday she went missing.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the duo slept in the barracks that night, but as early as 6am, the victim was asked to hurriedly leave because her friend did not inform her parents that she was bringing in a visitor. It was learnt that she did not report in the school that morning.

After the bones, which Christopher vehemently rejected as his daughter’s, were found, our correspondent was told that the guardian, Mr. Victor Emuyibo, was arrested by the police.

The victim’s father explained that the bones were taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital for forensic test.He said,
“The bones were packed in a nylon bag; they were disjointed. They were taken to OOUTH. A professor in the hospital, who examined them, said they could not be less than six months old. He, however, suggested a forensic test which requires N1m
“The police said they don’t have budget for it and I also don’t have the money. So, we don’t have any report on it as we speak.”

The victim’s mother, Mrs. Funmilola Ibijoju, said the family believed their daughter was still alive.

She said this had been confirmed by spiritualists, adding that they had continued to pray and hope that she would return home. She said,
“I know that my daughter is still alive. We appeal to the school management to use their power to find out where she is.”
When contacted, the Commandant of the school, Captain Abubakar, said he was not aware of the case.

However, the immediate past commandant of the school, Lt. Col. Aliyu A.B. confirmed the incident and said the school had handed over the case to the police.

He said,
“The matter is with the police. Before I left the school in December, 2014, the police arrested the guardian of the girl and detained him for some time and took the statements of everybody involved in the case.
“They also invited everybody involved in the matter and they were taken to Abeokuta. The cantonment commander was also involved and we did our best.”
When contacted, the victim’s guardian, Victor, declined comment.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said he would get back to our correspondent on the matter, but had yet to do so as of press time.

Africans! Rise and take that which belongs to you -Anthony-Claret Onwutalobi

0 0
Read Time:7 Minute, 21 Second

A lot has been said and written in the last years about Africans and Africa as a whole. Most times, it is either we are seen as continent under evil spell or magical curse. Or some experts would say it is a repository lands for cheap labor another way of saying it is a slave market. Some viewed it is as an under-utilized rich land full of resources but still begging for exploration and exploitation. It was also described as a continent congenitally sunk in manifold calamities of natural and man-made disasters such as, hunger, debt and civil war and of recent of health epidemics like the HIV/AIDS virus. Other groups said it is still a primitive continent in need of sympathy from the civilized world because its inhabitants, though human are of a lower race and are therefore intellectually ill equipped to manage themselves in a civilized competitive world. In fact this last myth was adequately reflected by European writers in the 19th century who commonly refer to Africans as people of 'the lower race. This thus, has deeply affected the African people in different ways. Most often, Africans tend to appreciate and worship achievement of other races and treat with contempt and condescension on our African men and women who have equally in their capacity as African have achieved equal fame of counterpart degree.

This writer feels that, time has come for the African man; to forget and cast behind him his hero worship and adoration of other races, and to start out immediately to create and emulate heroes of his own. We must begin to canonize our own martyrs and elevate to positions of fame and honor African men and women who have made their distinct contributions to our African history before and after the colonization of Africa. Great men like Julius Nyerere is worthy of sainthood alongside of Kwame Nkrumah, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Jomo Kenyatta, Albert John Lutuli, Chike Obi, , Tafawa balewa and Ken saro-wiwa etc. They are all entitled to the halo of martyrdom and sainthood with no less glory than that of the martyrs or saints of any other race. Nelson Mandela, Philip Emegwali, Wole Soyinka, Mohamed El Baradei, Kofi Annan, Ahmed H. Zewail, Naguib Mahfouz, Wangari Maathai, Anwar Sadat, Desmond Tutu, Max Theiler, Allan M. Cormack, Nadine Gordimer, Sydney Brenner, F.W. de Klerk, J. M. Coetzee, John Kufuor, Emeka Anyaoku, Margaret Ekpo, and Jakaya kikwete’s brilliancy as educators, politicians, peacemaker, scientists and statesmen entitled them to the highest place as heroes among men.

In recent years, Africa has produced countless numbers of men and women, in war and in peace, whose luster and bravery outshines that of any other people. Then why not see good and perfection in ourselves? As we condemn without reservation bad things happening in Africa today. We must equally inspire a literature and promulgate a doctrine of our own without any apologies to the powers that be to speak about our heroes and heroine. The right is the Africa man's and Africa's. Let contrary sentiments and cross opinions go to the winds. Consistent negative reporting of mainstream media and failure of our own politicians recently is just a weapon of the enemy to defeat the hopes of emerging and young energetic African statesmen and we must say no this ideology and practice.

What is to be done?

Time has come when we need to speak for ourselves and create our own reporting that serves us right. We are entitled to our own opinions and not obligated to or bound by the opinions of others. As an African, do not think that you are inferior. Race is just an idea. It has been proven that it does not exist2 .If others laugh at you return the laughter to them; if they mimic you return the compliment with equal force. They have no more right to dishonor, disrespect or disregard your feelings and manhood than you have in dealing with them. Honor them when they honor you; ignore them when they vilely treat you. But do this without violence as Martin Luther our great African hero taught us during their civil right campaign in the 1960’s. Remember that such people who mistreat you or see you as subhuman are suffering from some kind of complex and their arrogance is but skin deep and an assumption that has no foundation in morals or in Law.

Awakening Call

This essay is an awakening call to all Africans and friends of Africa. It is summoning Africans to rise to the challenge of undertaking well-meaning, well-defined and well-positioned actions for the rescue of Africa from self-extermination. It is asking Africans to put on deck, every vision, every mind, every hand and every resource at the disposal of Africa as the planet earth and our world progress into the new millennium. This urgent demand is necessary for the singular and sacred task of setting into motion the yet to be tapped hidden energies of the African race in the Diaspora and on the continent. This most urgent call is important in order to help all Africans to seek the truth, the knowledge and the understanding about the errors of the past and the foolishness of the present.

This writer believes that it is only by knowing and understanding the truth about Africa’s painful situations that the first crucial step towards recovery can be taken. It is only by coming into full awareness of the problems facing Africa that the spiritual and mental energy that can set Africans in motion on the well-treaded path of civilization and emancipation can be released. Therefore, let the emancipated Africans begin in earnest to articulate strategies that befit the challenges of the present and of the future. These strategies, without any gainsaying, ought to be guided by informed and well-balanced insights that are focused on clearly defined intentions and built around a specific single goal. The goal at this point in history for Africa should be the total emancipation of Africans from mental and psychological enslavement as evidenced in the high level of racial inferiority complex that is comfortable with social inequalities, economic slavery, cultural ape-like mentality, and conventional racial inequalities and global injustices. It is important for all enlightened Africans to ensure that this new goal should not be allowed to degenerate into another make-believe emancipation project of the independence era. Let allemancipated souls in Africa resolve to make this project a real and genuine action that can set the African race free from the over-burdensome vagaries of nature, from unfounded cultural fears and superstitions, from the fictitious economic, political and cultural enslavement by the rest of the world, from wicked tyranny of the past and of the present and from the current indefensible prevailing high state of ignorance in the continent. These are the roots of all the problems facing Africa. Africans need to wake up from their slumbers to challenge the diseases of ignorance and intellectual laziness.

This is a call for action towards total spiritual, intellectual, psychological, political, social and economic liberation. This is a call seeking for pragmatic actions from all enlightened souls as we shake off the indignities of the past millennium and as we embrace the reality of a universal idea, knowledge and wisdom of liberty, equality and justice that is freely on offer in the new millennium. It is important for all Africans to see and welcome the new millennium as a precious gift wrapped with the accumulated wisdom and knowledge of the last three thousand memorable years of mankind. Africans should see and accept this gift as a ready-made package that is freely available to all seekers of truth. This gift of true knowledge is the only recipe that can lift up the spirit and liberate all human races from the vicissitude of the paralyzing state of nature and from the wickedness and inhumanity of man to man.

Africa needs to see this period as a golden opportunity to be seized with both hands as we reclaim and rebuild our mangled and trampled identities. The sons and daughters of Africa should claim this new millennium as their own precious gift from Mother Nature. However, Africa needs not adopt the strategy of war, murder, rape, looting and arson, like the imperial empire builders of the past. The same and even better glory and honor can still be attained by peace and love. Let all the sons and daughters of Africa solemnly declare in words and by actions that, Africa's time and light have come to shine and that Africa is ready to share with the world her unique divine nature of love, humane kindness and peace.

Couple kill 3-day-old baby to cover up pre-marital sex

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 35 Second

To cover up evidence of their pre-marital sex which is an abomination according to Sharia Laws, an young couple in Kano State, Aminu Mustapha and Faiza Haruna, have strangulated a 3-day-old baby girl in Rijiyar Lemo in Fagge local government area of the state.

According to Weekly Trust, the couple got married two months ago without anyone knowing that the 17-year-old wife was pregnant until she gave birth to a baby girl last weekend.

To hide the fact that they had engaged in pre-marital sex before they got married, they allegedly killed the baby and buried her in their neighbourhood.

A neighbour said Faiza delivered the baby at home without the help of any medical personnel.

"During the pregnancy, she didn’t attend any antenatal clinic. It was we that assisted her during child labour. She delivered the baby safely and we assisted her with all the necessary cleaning up.

Hours after giving birth, Faiza started telling people that the baby was sick. We advised her to take the baby to hospital but three days later, she and her husband returned home without the baby.

We drew the attention of Hisbah officials and they were arrested because we suspected foul play."

It was at the Hisbah office that Faiza confessed that she killed the baby.

The Hisbah commandant in Fagge local government, Ustaz Salisu Umar, said the couple killed the baby to cover up their premarital affairs.

In her confession, Faiza said:

"I gave birth to the baby and killed her myself. I did so to avoid embarrassment from members of our community. I was impregnated by my husband before we got married.

I didn’t use anything; it was my bare hands that I used in killing her.

I went into my room when my husband was not around and strangulated her."

40% of men don’t know they are not the father’s of their first child – Lagos DNA expert says

0 0
Read Time:4 Minute, 5 Second

Dr Oyinwola Oni, a Lagos based DNA expert says that 40% of men do not know that they are not the biological fathers of their first child. Dr Oni said this while sharing his experience on how a former girlfriend wanted to force a set of twins on him. What he told City People below is quite interesting.
"How I got into doing DNA is an interesting story which all man should learn from. I lost my wife about 6 years ago. About that time there was a lady I have known for long in Nigeria but who now lives in the UK. I now said I will be in Germany on so,so date , can you come and see me? She came in November and we were together for four days. She left. I left. I got back home. I lost my wife four weeks after that. Then she became pregnant. She didn't tell me. She didn't tell me. She waited for a year. After a year, she said she just wanted me to know what she did in Germany, that she now has twins for me-a boy and a girl. I said now that I can't say anything. I am bereaved.
Give me time. How do you want my in-laws to react. Do you know at the 1st year birthday, I was in London with a friend. We did one year birthday for the kids. They were pulling trolleys around with the baby. After 2 years I bought her a car. After 4 years of loosing my wife, I now said let us now review the situation and see whether we can marry. As God will have it, I knew in my mind that I will do DNA before I marry her. Infact, we were even getting a room ready for her in my house. The carpenter was working. She was in the UK dictating what she wanted. I traveled to the UK. I carried her mother. Before I left, I told my brother this is what is happening. I am going to carry this woman to go and DNA if these children were mine. I will now ask them to come for the Ileya festival. We got there she was happy. I took her sample, took the children's sample. We submitted the sample at the DNA center. We went to Italy together. We went for dinner together. Then I came back. When she was going home one night, I said let me check my mail. I did. The result of the DNA had come. I was not the father of the twins. Haa! I failed with 0%. If not for the medical lab scientist, those children will be in my house now, with me thinking they are my children. I can tell you this happens to so many men. Do you know that 40 percent of most of the 1st born don't belong to their so called biological fathers, all over the world. Reason? Most of there ladies often have one or two boyfriends"he said
Asked why the woman decided to con him into believing he fathered the children, he said
"I told her, lady from the result, I am not the father of your kids but I will help you. I explained to her, we met in November, you gave birth in August, perfect. That is the time. You can't force that on any clinical person. Any pregnancy month minus 3 will give to the AAA. We got 9(Day 9). I asked her a few questions. So how come? She was to confess to me that because I said she should take the next available flight from Heathrow to Cologne, the first flight was 6pm and where she was, was very far. She had to stay with a male friend that was living close to Heathrow and that was her day 10. She said one thing led to another and she had sex with the guy. She came to meet me on the 11th and she ovulated around that period. She didn't know. Atimes women know, atimes they don't. A woman ovulates only one day in a month and it last for about 10 hours. And sperm can stay in a woman for 48 hours. So a lady can have 2 to 3 types of sperm in her system and when she now ovulates, any sperm that is fertilised can immediately hit that egg. That was what happened to her. So, the sex she had on the 9th of that month, the sperm was still there till 11th when she now ovulated. Before we met on the evening of the 11th, the egg had been fertilised. There are so many homes where they have this kind of problems"

Jonathan, PDP not ready for 2015 elections – Rivers APC

0 0
Read Time:2 Minute, 28 Second

The Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya has declared that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not ready for the 2015 general elections

Dr Ikanya made this known today in a press statement signed by his Senior Special Aide on Media and Public Affairs, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, saying “this explains the desperation of the party to scuttle the polls with one booby trap after another”.

“The rejection by PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan of the card reader machines which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has successfully tested and intends to use for the March 28 and April 11 general elections did not come to us as a surprise because PDP as a party has not prepared well for the polls. It had hoped to rig its way to victory as usual and has purchased and hoarded the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) of many Nigerians but has been frustrated by INEC’s ingenuity in introducing the card reader machines, which has disorganised its rigging plot. We can know understand why 14,000 PVCs of the Rivers State electorate have been declared missing by INEC as these are some of the cards stolen by PDP in its bid to rig the elections,” Dr. Ikanya said.

According to the APC Chief, “After succeeding to postpone the February 14 presidential election to buy time and seeing that Nigerians are hell-bent to sack his clueless and corruptive administration, Jonathan and his failed party are now preoccupied with their satanic plot to sack INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, and bring in someone who will do their bidding by abandoning the use of card readers so as to create the necessary foundation for them to rig. Their rejection of the card reader machines after the same machines were approved and the contract for their purchase awarded by the Federal Executive Council under the watch of President Jonathan simply demonstrates that Jonathan and his doomed party are either not ready for this election or are looking for anything they can use as an excuse to abort it once again.”

Dr. Ikanya stressed that the last-minute rejection of the card readers shows how jittery Jonathan and PDP have become, as they are aware that PDP can never win any credible election in Nigeria. He said that enough is enough and challenged Nigerians to rise as one and insist that the card readers must be used for the polls. The Rivers APC Chairman declared that it is too late in the game to change the rules, adding: “PDP and President Jonathan have no hiding place anymore. They should be ready to face APC at the polls on March 28 and April 11 or get ready to face the wrath of Nigerians, who cannot afford to bear another four years of suffering and gnashing of teeth under Jonathan and his evil party, the PDP.”

An Imaginary Encounter with the President

0 0
Read Time:9 Minute, 50 Second

ME:  Sir, thank you for taking time to grant me this exclusive interview. I am grateful Sir.

Mr PREZ: You’re welcome, my brother.

ME: My first question is, do you really have to go for a second term when it is obvious Nigerians don’t want you?

Mr PREZ: Who says Nigerians don’t want me? My kinsmen want me to run for presidency again. And my wife and ministers and the Presidency too.

ME: Which kinsmen?

Mr PREZ: My brothers and sisters in the creeks.

ME: You mean that ex-militant in particular who has been making threats?

Mr PREZ: You better don’t call him an ex-militant. He’s a billionaire now and can bully even me.

ME: How can somebody like him bully a whole President of 160 million people?

Mr PREZ: Ah, what do you know? He and Tompolo are in charge of securing our bloodline – that is, oil pipeline.

ME: OK Sir. But we heard you really don’t want to go for a second term. Could that be true?

Mr PREZ: Let me tell you one secret. Yes, I would rather retire to Otuoke, and enjoy my life and wealth. What more do I want? I have been a Local Government Chairman, been a deputy Governor, a Governor, Vice president and then a President for six years. How much blessed can a man be?

ME: You tell me Sir. Your place in history is assured.

Mr PREZ: I am telling you. But the Dame and the others in government who are stealing (not corrupt o) are saying I have to solder on to concretise my name in history. So I am trying to put concrete on my name.

ME: You are kiddin’ me Sir!

Mr PREZ: No, I am kiddin’ you not. You are hearing it from me.

ME: You mean from the horse’s mouth?

Mr PREZ: Who are you calling a horse? You better don’t let the Dame hear that.

ME: I am sorry Sir.

Mr PREZ: No wahala.

ME: Sir, your campaign team is not helping you at all with all their utterings, FFK, that Ekiti thug and even the Dame. They are like crazy, desperate men, not addressing real issues of concern to Nigerians.

Mr PREZ: Are the APC and their leader, Tinubu doing anything different? Look, FFK, Koroand that Ekiti thug were brought in because of their toughness and ruggedness. You know I am a simple man, peaceful, naïve and left to me, Buhari can have it. I respect age, and Buhari is older than me. But these guys say No! It must be Fire for Fire. So I leave it to them. You know they are more of thugs than me? But leave the Dame outta it. She’s just doing her duty as a faithful and loyal wife who wants the best for her husband.

ME: Good Sir. I concur about the Dame. Apologies Sir.

Mr PREZ: You know you journalists know more than me. So tell me, what’s Buhari doing in London? I hear he went for medicals, and then some guys were paid to heckle him. Why does he have to go and campaign in the UK?

ME: Yes, he was in London at the invitation of Nigerians in Diaspora who want Change. That is, they want you and the PDP out of Aso Rock.

Mr PREZ: Oh dear! You mean “Dial-spola”, as my Dame will call them? Who are those people? They will not vote. They cannot even vote. Are they even Nigerians? Don’t they have foreign passports and citizenships?

ME: That’s where you are wrong Sir. You see, you promised them in 2011 that you would ensure they are able to vote in 2015 but you never kept that promise and so they are getting back at you. Even if they can’t vote, they can mobilise millions of votes against you in Nigeria. And most of them have dual nationality.

Mr PREZ: You kiddin’ me?

ME: No, Sir, I am not!

Mr PREZ: Damn!!!

ME: And moreover, these same “Dial-spola” Nigerians fought for you to become President when the late Umaru Yar Adua kitchen cabinet tried all subterfuge to suppress and ignore the Constitution to deny your automatic and constitutional succession to become President in 2010. I was part of the Save Nigeria Group marches in London in freezing weather. We eventually got you in and then voted for you in 2011 to have your own mandate. But you disappointed us.

Mr PREZ: Oh dear! I did?

ME: Yessir, you did.

Mr PREZ: I am sorry. What can I do to redress that?

ME: Nothing Sir. It’s too late now. You have to contest that election that was shifted and then lose.

Mr PREZ: Even as we are in renewed battling and gaining grounds from the Boko Haram? And I went to the warfront to show my support and appreciation to a rejuvenated Nigerian Army?

ME: Too late Sir. The Chibok girls are another millstone hanging around your neck.

Mr PREZ: Can I send that my militant bully cousin and his forces in to help? At least he can talk a good fight.

ME: I doubt it, Sir. The man is all talk. The money you’ve given him and others have made them too fat. They want to enjoy the money, not get themselves killed.

Mr PREZ: Oh dear! What about FFK, Koro and the Ekiti thug? At least they are bulldogs and streetfighters. They can use their shakara against the Boko Haram.

ME: If you ask me Sir, those three guys are done for. They are merely fighting for their own survival. You send them to Borno, and you will see they will leave the PDP the next day. But I guess they are good at rigging elections, aren’t they?

Mr PREZ: Yes, I think so too. But don’t quote me. I really don’t know those guys. Some bigwig PDP godfathers brought them in and who am I to say No? And they are really doing good hatchet jobs, don’t you think?

ME: Yessir, I must confess they are, but at your detriment. They are not helping you at all. I can do a better job at promoting you than all of them combined.

Mr PREZ: You can? Why didn’t you say so before? So which one you dey?

ME: Too late Sir. I no dey for any side. I dey for Nigeria to be better governed and managed. That’s what Nigerians are asking for.

Mr PREZ: You mean you want Change? Dame has already said only bus conductors want change.

ME: On the contrary Sir, it is the passengers that want Change, not a bus conductor. Passengers pay the conductor and expect some good service from the driver and the conductor. It is the business of the conductor to give that service and then change to the passengers, not vice versa. If he can’t give appropriate change, he will be beaten up and tossed out of the bus.

Mr PREZ: Is that want you’re prescribing for me?

ME: Not me, Sir. But all of us!

Mr PREZ: Who are all of you?

ME: Seems like a lot of your people, Sir. Nigerians, they call them.

Mr PREZ: Oh dear! I told the Dame I suspect so but she didn’t believe me.

ME: Well Sir, you better believe me. But don’t despair, there are still a lot of people who believe in you and your achievements, and that’s what matters. You don’t have anything to fear.

Mr PREZ: You mean I have achieved?

ME: Of course Sir. How can you be President for six years and not achieve anything? You have, Sir. Your people in Oyo State even say you are going to create our very own state for us.

Mr PREZ: Which state is that?

ME: Ibadan State. Can you really do that? What about the others clamour for their own states – Ijebu State, etc.?

Mr PREZ: Don’t mind that Ibadan girl. Her father wants me to create a state for her daughter to rule.

ME: Thanks Sir.

Mr PREZ: You can’t satisfy Nigerians. What more do they want in six years? Do they think I am God?

ME: No, Sir. What they think is that your government is godless. And if they allow you a second term, by 2019, most of them will be dead.

Mr PREZ: I can’t kill 180 million people now. Who will I rule then?

ME: That’s the question, Sir. But that’s what is happening! We know the problem of Nigeria did not start with you but you have made very little concerted and sincere efforts to redress it. You just continued in the same destructive path. That’s why Nigerians want you out. And then you have done a lot of crazy, dumbfounding things and people just wonder, how could you?

Mr PREZ: Such as?

ME: You pardoned your former boss, Alams. You refused to indict Diezani and Princess Oduah even when their corruption sins were glaring; billions of dollars and naira have gone missing during your watch; now you are even now trying to make Koro the Kongo a minister for the second time, despite his being implicated in the Ekiti election rigging.

Mr PREZ: What can I do, brother? I have to satisfy them. You mean they rigged in Ekiti State? Lord have mercy! I thought Fayose won fairly because of stomach infrastructure.

ME: No Sir, there is a tape where all the bad men of the SW were caught discussing how to rig, and you refused to allow an investigation to be conducted into the allegations.Mr PREZ: So you want to replace me with that old foggy without certificate?

ME: No, not really, Sir. Personally Sir, I’d like you to go and enjoy the rest of your life peacefully. You are a good man but not a good leader of men. We want to replace you to prove that power lies in the hand of the Nigerian people. If that “old foggy” gets elected and messes us up too, we will push him out too via our vote. That is what we call democracy. That way, Nigerians are sending out signals that we will not tolerate bad, incompetent, selfish, greedy, inconsiderate, insensitive, corrupt, and visionless and focus-less leaders – presidents, governors, senators, representatives, state legislators, local government chairpersons and councillors.

Mr PREZ: I get it now. But personally, is that what you think of me?

ME: Not all of them, but some of them, Sir. I think I should take responsibility for some of your credibility problems. You yourself claimed recently that those people are not giving you good advice.  But you see, the buck stops at your desk. Therefore you should get rid of bad advisers, ministers, etc. You are responsible for 160 million lives, not just a few thousands near you. Striving towards the bigger picture of working for the generality of Nigerians would have made you a good leader.

Mr PREZ: But you will vote for me, won’t you?

ME: Sir, I can’t answer that. I did in 2011 but four years after, I see no reason I should do that again.

Mr PREZ: I see. Thanks for being honest with me.

ME: You are welcome Sir. My regards to the Dame.

The daughter of one of the aides of Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has been beheaded.

20-year-old Memuna Galadima, the daughter of Mustapha Galadima, Al-Makura’s Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs was found dead after going missing on Thursday, February 26, 2015.

The victim’s corpse was found in a well along Agwan Ozoro, in the Karshi development area of the state, Punch reports.

Memuna was a student of the Nasarawa State University before her untimely death.

“It was on Thursday, February 26, 2015. My daughter left home for school to sit for a test at the Pianku campus along Nasarawa Road along with three of her friends,” Galadima said confirming the incident.

He said further that Memuna didn’t return and her whereabouts remained unknown until he was informed of the discovery of her corpse.

“Upon hearing the news, I mobilised people to go there and check if it were her remains that were found. On reaching there, the search team told me that the body had decomposed beyond recognition. They added that the body was found inside a deep well, saying several attempts made to remove the corpse from the well were unsuccessful,” he said.

“It was when the police brought her picture that we were able to identify her through her legs and there was nothing we could do but to bury her there according to Muslim injunctions,” he added.

Unknown attackers recently beheaded the pregnant daughter of the Director General of Al – Makura’s Campaign Organisation, Musa Illu.

Al-Makura’s driver was also recently assassinated while travelling within the state with his wife on November 8, 2014.

“Fani-Kayode is mentally an infant”, Governor says

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 25 Second

The Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima has said that the spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign organization, Femi Fani-Kayode is physically developed but still a child in his mind.

Shettima made the comments on Sunday, March 8, in response to Fani-Kayode’s allegation that he had inside knowledge into the activities of Boko Haram.

The governor also urged Nigerians, via his media aide, Isa Gusau, to ignore Fani-Kayode as he wasn’t someone to be taken seriously.

"Femi Fani-Kayode is one Nigerian that is physically an adult but mentally an infant,” Gusau said.

“We all know that going into exchange with an infant is like having a dialogue with the blind, deaf and dumb, this is why it is thoughtless for any serious minded person to exchange words with Femi Fani Kayode," he added.

"…not to talk of someone like Governor Kashim Shettima who has too many serious issues he is competently handling with patriotism as a result of which he was not only exonerated but also commended by a Presidential Fact-finding committee on the missing Chibok schoolgirls that was set up by the same Presidency Kayode works for, and this in addition to the Governor being the one that secured admissions into an International school for the escaped Chibok schoolgirls and granted them scholarships, for which and other efforts, he is highly respected by those who know him or have come in contact with him in Nigeria and within the International community,” Gusau continued.

Fani-Kayode also accused Shettima and the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of knowing the whereabouts of the missing Chibok girls.
