The Delta State Commissioner for Information, Chike Ogeah Esq, has commiserated with the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the media industry in Nigeria over the passing of Mrs. Stella Egberenedeh and Ms Barbara Okoruwa.
Until her death, Mrs. Egberenedeh was the publisher of Epitome newspaper, a well-respected journal devoted to reporting developmental strides to the grassroot while Ms. Okoruwa was a staff with Radio Nigeria.
Ogeah noted that Mrs. Egberenedeh had distinguished herself as a thoroughbred journalist through the quality and content of her publication. He said the late publisher through amiable dispassionate reportage of events endeared her publication to readers and policy makers alike.
The commissioner noted that Ms. Okoruwa belonged to the generation of broadcasters that had taken Radio Nigeria to a higher level.
Noting that both of them passed on in their prime, Ogeah stated that the state will sorely their professionalism.
He prayed God to grant their souls eternal rest and urged the NUJ to continue to strive to uphold the tenets and ethics of journalism for which the two ladies were noted.

The Chairman
Nigeria Union of Journalists
Delta State Council
Asaba.

Dear Sir,
CONDOLENCE
The news of the sudden death of Mrs. Stella Egberenedeh, publisher of Epitome newspaper, and Ms. Barbara of Radio Nigeria reached with shock.
Both ladies were personally known to me and I had been impressed with their professional disposition.
I recall that Mrs. Egberenedeh had distinguished herself as a thoroughbred journalist through the quality and content of her publication. Through her amiable and dispassionate reportage of events, she had endeared her publication to readers and policy makers alike.
Similarly, Ms. Okoduwa belonged to the generation of broadcasters that had taken Radio Nigeria to a higher level.
Unfortunately, both passed on in their prime. Their professionalism and engaging personalities will be sorely missed. On behalf of the Government and People of Delta State, I commiserate with your entire members.
We pray for eternal rest for their souls and may God grant all your members, friends and associates of the departed journalists the fortitude to bear the loss.

Sincerely,

CHIKE C. OGEAH Esq
Honourable Commissioner
