Nigeria: SAY NO TO GIRLS FOR MONEY

Read Time:2 Minute, 18 Second

We have noted with dismay the total reduction and debasement of womanhood to money making venture. Our Teenagers are lured, raped impregnated and made to stay pregnant in a hideout/fake homes, till full term. These girls deliver babies who are sold at birth. Is this the future we promised our youths, Is this how morally debased we have become? Do we fold our arms and watch our daughters ruined for life?
?The board and members of Working Moms condemn in strong terms the existence and proliferation of “baby factories” in some part of Nigeria with the South Eastern States topping the list. Just yesterday, June 20, 2013, 16 pregnant teenagers were rescued. Who knows how many more remain uncovered! The increase and indulgence of our teenage daughters in this ungodly act for selfish gains is quite disturbing. The perpetrators of this unwholesome act including the agents, doctors, nurses and self acclaimed social home owners must be made to face the law as it calls for emergency attention.
?We hereby task the State and Federal Governments to URGENTLY address this dehumanizing menace and ensure culprits are brought to book.
?Mothers on their part are by this call, charged to live up to their primary responsibility of nurturing, educating, guiding and protecting their daughters from falling prey to such evil vices.?On our part, we are conferring with the South Eastern States government to find the best solution to eradicating this menace as we call on the Government to ensure adequate rehabilitation is extended to the victims while we work in partnership with all relevant stakeholders to sensitizing our young daughters on the implication and health hazards inherent in indulging in EARLY & PRE-MARITAL SEX for whatever reasons.
?We call on all well meaning Nigerians to stand and speak out against Forced Motherhood, “BABY FACTORIES” and their agents.
