A former Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Danjuma (rtd), Sunday met privately with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, in Abuja.
The meeting, which took place shortly before the president departed for Cameroun, where he is expected to take part in the summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of Central African States and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on maritime safety and security in the Gulf of Guinea, was described by a presidency source as an interactive session between the duo, less than 24 hours after Danjuma was reported to have criticised the Nigerian leadership.
According to the source, who admitted that he was not privy to the subject of their discussion, the closed door session may not have been about Danjuma's public statement.
It was further learnt that Danjuma was the last visitor Jonathan received before leaving for Yaounde, Cameroun.
