Nigeria, Cameroon to Cooperate on Trans-border Security

A couple of days after President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States,  he and his Cameroonian counterpart,  Paul Biya, Thursday met in Abuja resolving to strengthen cooperation and collaboration on trans-border security.

A timeline of the activities of the Islamist insurgents indicate that they have been active in the border towns in the axis of Adamawa and Borno that share borders with Cameroon, where a French family was taken hostage while a suicide attack rocked a military checkpoint in Marte town, near the Nigerian border with Cameroon.
