President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the reconstitution of the governing board of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) with himself as the chairman.
This was announced Thursday in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.
Anyim explained that in line with the enabling Act for the Agency, the president is the chairman of the governing board.
The other members of the board include Dr. Mohammed S. Haruna who is the Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Senator Femi Okurounmu, Prof Placid Njoku, the Minister of National Planning Commission or his representative, and the Minister of Science and Technology or his representative.
Also included is the Minister of Works or his representative, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development or his representative, the Minister of Health or his representative, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The president or chairman, as the case may be, or the representative of the Nigerian Academy of Science (NAC), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN), the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), the National Association of Small Scale Industrialists; and the Nigerian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
