Governor Wada IdrisThe bid by opposition political parties in Kogi state  to stop the forthcoming local government council elections, Tuesday failed, as a  High  court judge  sitting in  Koton Karfe ,  dismissed their  application for interlocutory injunction to  stop the elections scheduled for May 4.

The coalition of    opposition parties  had approached the court  to restrain the defendants from conducting the May 4  local government  election in the state, pending the determination of substantive suit.

In his ruling , the  Judge , Justice Alaba Omolaye Ajileye  stated that the court cannot grant such application in view of the lateness of the  application coming in the eve of election, after  enormous preparation and resources committed have been  to the project.
