Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, has been summoned by the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, in Abuja.

Mrs. Semenitari, who confirmed the invitation to newsmen in Port Harcourt, before leaving for Abuja to keep the appointment, said she was asked to appear yesterday afternoon, adding that she was yet to be told why she was summoned.

Meantime, the commissioner has dismissed speculations in some quarters that Governor Chibuike Amaechi was planning to quit Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with his supporters.

She spoke while fielding questions from newsmen on the Abuja High Court judgment, which sacked the Chief G. U. Ake-led PDP in the state.

Meanwhile, the Felix Obuah-led executive of PDP in the state, was yet to resume at the PDP secretariat on Aba Road. News had filtered in that the new executive would be led by a team from the national body to assume duties at the state secretariat of the party on Aba Road, yesterday.

A party source later told Vanguard that the new executive was not likely to operate from the Aba Road office of the party. According to the source, the new team was likely to run the affairs of the party from a building on Ada George Road in Port Harcourt.

Effort to speak with Obuah was futile as his phone rang out. He also did not respond to a text message sent to his telephone.
