Trial judge, Justice Ishaq Bello, in his ruling, approved the election of the faction loyal to the Minister of State for Education, Nyson Wike, and led by Felix Obuah, as well as members of his factional executive.
The court earlier held that it had jurisdiction to entertain the suit. The court upheld the deposition of Chairman of Edo State PDP, Mr. Dan Orbih, who had averred that the result which Chief Akeh was parading never came from the congress he conducted in Rivers State.
It will be recalled that Obuah had challenged the election of Akeh, who was purportedly elected chairman of Rivers State chapter of PDP in February 2011.
The suit was before Justice Adamu Talba, who gave the controversial judgment in the Director of the Police Pension Fund and following his suspension, the case was re-assigned to Justice Bello, who ruled in favour of the Wike’s faction of PDP, led by Obuah.
