NIGERIA: Akpabio flays illegal detention, murder of A-Ibom natives in diaspora

Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, has expressed worry over constant harassment, illegal detention and killing of Akwa Ibom indigenes in diaspora.

Akpabio, when executive members of Akwa Ibom community in Lagos, led by its President, Elijah Ifot, paid him a courtesy visit at Governor’s Lodge, Uyo, said he was worried by news of illegal detention of a 19-year-old Akwa Ibom girl for four years without trial for alleged theft of handset and killing of a three-year-old Akwa Ibom child in Lagos.

The  governor stressed the need to partner the body in addressing crucial issues affecting indigenes and touching the lives of Akwa Ibom people living in Lagos.
