THE Police in Ekiti State have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of Mr. Ayo Jeje, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at Erinjinyan Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area of the state, Saturday night
Jeje was killed by yet-to-be identified persons while attending a political meeting.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP, Sotonye Wakama, had while speaking on the telephone yesterday confirmed the arrest of the two persons.
The police boss, however, added that they were yet to get any corroborative evidence against the two arrested persons.
On the identities of the two persons, Wakama said he could not give their names because he was not in his office.
“We have arrested two persons. We went to Erijiyan and they pointed two men to us. They said that the two suspects were part of those who fired shots during the mayhem. But I am not saying that they were there or not. Further investigation will show if they are culpable or not,” the CP said.
The police boss, however, said peace had since been restored in the town.
