The Yoruba cocoa farmers were alleged to have stormed the community at night with a view to attacking the community due to the alleged refusal of the community to allow them to continue farming on their land.
It was learnt that trouble started in the Ijaw community in 2011 between the natives and the Yoruba farmers, when some leaders of the Yoruba farmers led by one Pastor Joshua refused to pay the normal land rent to the community. Consequently, the Ijaws ordered the Yoruba farmers to leave the community and recovered their land.
