Police detectives investigating the gruesome murder of Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Chinwike Asadu, may soon come out with startling revelations that will shock the nation over the circumstances that surrounded his death. Unconfirmed police sources in Abuja and Enugu told Crime Alert that, “We are making progress seriously.
We are just keeping everything to our chest because we do not want to alert our suspects. You should know that the IGP is personally on top of the issue and nobody, repeat, nobody can sweep the matter under the carpet. It cannot be classified as an unresolved murder case because so far, we are on top of the situation and, God willing, positive results will soon be announced to the nation.”
Crime Alert investigation revealed that detectives from both Force headquarters, Abuja and Enugu Police command have jointly been neck deep in carrying out investigations into the killing of the police boss and have virtually succeeded in exhausting all the available clues that will help in unraveling the case.
Perhaps, according to police sources, one of the clues has given us veritable answer to the puzzle surrounding his death. What they are doing now is just to round up the suspects and evidence before opening up to the nation. And of course, a situation where the IGP is highly interested in such a case and had given matching orders for the killers to be fished out, nobody should expect anything less than positive results.
It was also learnt that their counterparts in Ilorin are not leaving any stone unturned either as they swung into action immediately after the incident and have also made recognizable impact in fishing out suspected killers of the police Commissionmer.
Already, both the Minister of Police Affairs, Captain Caleb Olubolade and the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar paid a joint condolence visit to the family of the slain police Commissioner and assured that all hands were on deck with a view to fishing out his killers. So far, it was not possible to ascertain where the pendulum would be tilting towards in efforts to round up the suspects.
Crime Alert could not obtain reliable information on whether his killers came from his base in Kwara State or Enugu, his home state. Efforts made also to get some clarifications from police authorities in Enugu failed as their officers could not be reached on phone.
Meanwhile, youths from the slain Commissioner’s village, Amukwa in Nsukka Local government Area of the state have vowed to take to the streets if killers of their son were not exposed within a reasonable time. Speaking with Crime Alert over the phone, a spokesman for the youths, Thaddeus Ezugwu lamented the manner their son was killed in his hometown and stated that they will go to any extent to assist police detectives in their investigations. He commended the concern shown by the Inspector-General of Police over the case and urged him to ensure that his boys did not relent in getting positive results without delay.
