Former Edo State deputy governor and chairman of SURE-P in the state, Chief Lucky Imasuen, who spoke during the flag-off of the deployment exercise in Benin City, explained that the commencement of the payment of N10,000 known as ‘Goodluck alert,’ was delayed due to the processes of registration of the beneficiaries, which includes opening of bank accounts for them.
Denying allegation that the forms were being given to only Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members in the state, Imasuen said the beneficiaries, include youths, HIV/AIDS victims, indigent students cutting across the three senatorial districts of the state, adding that after the deployment of the 3,000 youths, the Federal Government will commence additional deployment of another 2,000 youths making it 5,000 in every state.
“We have ensured that 30 per cent of the beneficiaries are women as directed by the Federal Government,” he said.
