A 36-year-old businessman, Ediri Tsakpohore, was yesterday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court, for allegedly stealing Spare parts valued at N13million, property of Metropolitan Motors Ltd.
Tsakphore, who resides at Agege, is facing a three-count charge of stealing and threat to life before magistrate, Mrs O.A Okunga. Police prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Barth Nwaokoye, told the court that the said offence was committed at No 7, Joel Ogunnaike street, GRA Ikeja area of Lagos.
He alleged that the defendant in 2011, stole goods valued at N13million, property of Metropolitan Motors Ltd. Nwaokoye also alleged that Tsakpohore threatened the life of one Adekunle Oyemosu, the company’s accountant that he was going to deal with him, if he asked for the money again on behalf of the company.
According to the prosecutor, the offence committed is punishable under section 312, 285 (1) of the criminal laws No 11 Vol 44 laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2011.
However when the charge preffered against the defendant by the police was read to him, he pleaded not guilty. Magistrate Okunuga granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum. She, therefore, adjourned the matter to March 25, 2013, for trial.
