 Nigerian ArmyThe Nigerian Army Tuesday court-martialled and dismissed four soldiers serving with the Brigade of Guards in Abuja, over alleged rape, extortion and assault.

The Non Commissioned soldiers, a Corporal and three Privates are Ex Cpl Nsa Eyedep, Privates Emzien Uzoma, Ugwu Mathew and Efosa Ikhuomoregbe.

Briefing newsmen on the dismissal of the soldiers, Commander, Guards Brigade, Brig-Gen. Emmanuel Atewe said the soldiers were alleged to have abducted and raped some women at the Wuse Zone 2, Abuja in December 2012.

Atewe spoke through Major Peter Elayo, noting that the Brigade convened a Board of Inquiry to investigate the circumstance surrounding the allegation with a view to taking punitive action and preventing a future recurrence.
