Hyacinth OhazulikeTHE new leadership of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has urged aggrieved members of the body to sheath their swords and support the Chief Garry Igariwey-led executive.

The body pledged to reach out to all members of the group who may have been piqued by actions or inactions of the former Ambassador Ralph Uwechue-led executive.

It has also cautioned against any attempt to frustrate the Igbo presidency after President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure.

The group added that in the spirit of equity and fairness, the country should produce a president of Igbo extraction after Jonathan.{div width:auto|height:auto|float:right}{module Hot Topics|rounded}{/div}

According to the group’s National Publicity Secretary, Prince Tony Osita Oganah, in Lagos at the weekend: “Igbo presidency is not negotiable. As soon as President Goodluck Jonathan leaves office, be it 2015 or 2019, it is the turn of Ndigbo to take over power. Every part of the region has had its shot in government except the South-East. It is only fair to ensure a level playing ground for all regions.”
