Calabar kingmakerCHAIRMAN of Efut Combined Assembly, Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State, Ndabo Obo Obo has raised an alarm over alleged attempt by some unscrupulous elements to raid the palace of the Muri Munene of Efut for a second time and also extend same to the Paramount Ruler, Muri Munene Effiong Mbukpa’s personal residence.

Mbukpa, who is the leader of Efut nation, had been operating from his personal residence following the sealing up of the palace by government after some suspected dissidents chased him out in May 2012.

Though, Mbukpa, who was traditionally proclaimed the Muri Munene on November 16, 2009 by the Efut Combined Assembly and had been performing the function of paramount ruler, had been faced with controversy since September 21, 2012, it was alleged that a highly placed government official sponsored another selection process and picked Prof.  Hogan Itam, as the new monarch.
