NIGERIA: Good Governance tour resumes in S-East tomorrow

The National Good Governance Tour is to resume tomorrow, Wednesday , January 16, 2013 with the tour of projects in the South-East geo-political zone.

In a statement, Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, said the first port of call would be  Abia followed by Imo, Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi states.

According to the statement, the tour of the South-East Geo-political Zone, which is expected to be rounded off on February 1, 2013, and proceed to the South-South geo-political zone from February 7-26, 2013.

Maku said the tour’s main objective was to entrench good governance by providing a platform for members of the team and citizens to obtain first-hand information about government policies, programmes and projects at the three tiers of government.

He said in addition to the inspection of project sites, the tour would feature Citizens Forum at every state, which is a platform for exchange of ideas between government officials and citizens.
