Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party have urged Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada (retd), who is recovering from the injuries he sustained during a recent car accident, not to be deterred from developing the state.
They also advised him to keep to his promises of good governance to Kogi residents.
The governors who were led by the Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum, Rotimi Amaechi, said this when they visited Wada on Saturday.
The Chief Press Secretary to Kogi State Deputy Governor, Mr. Abu Michael, said Amaechi urged Wada and people of the state to remain resolute and committed to the development of the state.
Amaechi, who is the Governor of Rivers State, called on the people to actively support Wada’s administration to further bring the dividends of democracy to the residents.
According to him, Wada has a “track record of excellence, sincerity and transparency in public and private concerns.”
He described Wada’s survival from the accident as divine and expressed delight at the governor’s recovery.
In his response, Wada said his survival had reaffirmed his faith in God and boosted his confidence in the people of the state.
While thanking the governors for their visit, he reiterated his commitment to developing the state in line with his transformation agenda.
He stated that in spite of the setback, his administration would fulfil its promises to the people.
