Security experts on Thursday in Lagos urged the Federal Government to use reliable integrated technology to curb security challenges in the interest of national security.
The experts gave the advice at the Integrated Technology for National Security Conference, organised by Afrisec Distribution and Consulting Ltd, in collaboration with Bosch Security Systems.
Mr Andries Nouwens, the Regional Director, Eastern Europe and Africa, Bosch, said there were lots of security challenges in Nigeria.
According to him, Bosch is ready to collaborate with the Federal Government to ensure a safer Nigeria.
Nouwens said that the country needed to have robust technology against vandalism and environmental conditions.
He added that terrorism was a big threat in many countries, noting that security system had a lot of equipment that could detect some suspicious behaviours.
"For example, if somebody is leaving a bag with maybe a bomb in it, we have cameras that can see the person that is leaving the luggage behind.
"The camera automatically gives an alarm to tell the control room to check out the bag before something happens. We have cameras with Intelligence Video Analytic (IVA) which analysis pictures and gives alarm.
"Whenever you install surveillance cameras in cities, the crime rate goes down drastically, you scare away criminals,'' Nouwens said.
