Speaking on the purported ban of the Movement for Actualisation Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), its leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike said nobody can ban the group.
Speaking through Mazi Chris Mocha, MASSOB’s Deputy National Director, Uwauruike said “MASSOB is using non-violence approach and nobody, not even the Inspector General Police, Mr. Arase, can ban MASSOB in any part of Nigeria. So, let no policeman, soldier, politician or any person try to intimidate us.”
Adding that “The UN General Assembly had on Thursday, September 13, 2007, whilst Uwauruike was in detention in Kefi prison in Nassarawa State, adopted a resolution that called for the recognition of the world’s 370 million people’s rights to self-determination and control over their lands and resources.”
He also said “It is our inalienable right. Anything to the contrary by the police is a state rumour and absurd.”
