President Muhammadu Buhari is set to visit The Republic of Benin on Saturday, August 1 for talks on how to combat terrorist sect, Boko Haram.
Buhari will meet with Benin counterpart, Boni Yayi after a similar visit to Cameroon on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
According to a statement by the Nigerian president’s media aide, Femi Adesina, the trip will round-off Buhari’s diplomatic shuttles to neighbouring countries to strengthen regional cooperation against terrorism and make it much harder for Boko Haram to operate across national boundaries.
Yayi had visited Abuja, along with the leaders of Chad and Niger, after Buhari’s inauguration for a security summit on the creation of a multinational force against the sect.
